The new season of Lost begins Monday! Kinda. ABC has (quietly) announced that it will begin posting its Lost “mobisodes” (originally intended to debut with Verizon Wireless customers) on Monday, Nov. 12, at abc.com. The series of two- to three-minute vignettes —
collectively known as “Missing Pieces” — kicks off with “The Watch,”
focusing on Matthew Fox’s character. The micro-stories aren’t deleted scenes —
they’re newly-shot material that fits into the larger Lost saga; it’s
up to the fans to figure out where they belong. A new Webisode will
post each Monday.

WE MISS YOU JEFF!!! Where are the theories that we all know and love?
I’m a huge “Lost” fan and I absolutely will not be watching these webisodes and neither should any of you while the WGA is on strike. This is exactly what the writers are fighting for. They are not being paid for these webisodes.
Actually they are. The payment structure that was independently negotiated by the writers and actors for the webisodes is similar to what the writers are currently striking for. There is a separate article on this site (sorry, don’t have link) detailing exactly this.
found the link for you:
http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2007/11/lost-mobisodes.html#more
hope this additional information helps!!
Great, but I won’t be watching due to the writers’ strike — solidarity!
who cares about the strike… just give us what WE, the viewers, want. If we’re not satisfied, they wont get paid!
Who cares about the writer’s strike, we need new writers anyway! All this material is recycled!
I’m still confused on this. That link says the producers and actors settled individual deals with ABC, but it didn’t say the writers did as well. The question here is whether or not the writers will be getting residuals from the advertising on these webisodes? Not trying to cause trouble, just trying to understand this. And I’m with Pam, I won’t be watching out of solidarity either way.
I heard on the radio this morning that the Feb 2008 season of Lost may be postponed due to the writer’s strike. Until when? Feb 2009! This is per the producers. Let’s hope this isn’t true or won’t happen.
I don’t think the new season will be delayed that badly. There’s eight episodes, half the new season, already in the can. I read an article with (I think) Cuse, and he said that episode 8 ends with a big cliffhanger and that fans might be frustrated if that epiosde ends the season due to the strike. It’s possible ABC will hold Lost until later in the spring or something, depending on how long the strike goes. But I’m confident we’ll have Lost back sometime in 2008. I sure hope so!
Shaun, correction:
“Says Lost cocreator Carlton Cuse, “Damon [Lindelof] and my concern about running the [eight] episodes we will have made is that it will feel a little like reading half a Harry Potter novel, then having to put it down. There is a mini-cliff-hanger at the end of Episode 8, but it’s like the end of an exciting book chapter; it’s not the end of the novel. Damon and I didn’t write [the ending of Episode 8] differently [with the looming strike in mind]. We wrote it to be the ending of Episode 8.”

Yeah, more tantalizing Lost info only to be taken away come Feburary. ::crying::
ugh! I love LOST but feel really uncomfortable watching these if they are hurting the striking writers. Yeah LMB- I still do not understand.
Right now I am not even concerned about the seasons being delayed- I just want the strike to be settled!
While normally this would be very exciting, if there are advertisements attached to these – I will not be watching.
