More than 3,000 Battlestar Galactica fans have signed on to join the show’s writing staff (including exec. producer Ron Moore, probably) on the picket line at Universal Studios lot on Friday, Nov. 16., Hollywood Insider has learned. Most of those fans will already be in town for a nearby Battlestar fan convention that weekend, and at least one major Battlestar fansite has actively followed the cause of the writers since well before the strike began. A Sci Fi Channel exec says that the strike could actually benefit fans, because it may mean the network will need to air the show’s full final season uninterrupted by a planned mid-season hiatus. Hmm. Maybe this show of fan support isn’t so altruistic after all.

I am one of the BSG fans attending the con and planning on visiting the picket line. I have to ask where the 3000 number came from? That sounds like the total attendance of the con… I am sure we will have a decent showing at Universal but as much as I would love 3,000 fans there, that’s not happening.
There definitely will not be 3,000 Battlestar fans on the pickets on Friday! While there may be some people heading over from a nearby convention to show their support, the number will be much, much lower.

Hey Adam- umm…wha?
Is this the actual number of attendees per Creation Entertainment that have bought tickets? Is this the number of people staying at the hotel where there is a join Stargate con as well?
Are you trying to make the fan support look that bad?
Comic-Con this is not, my friend….
Geez. What a bunch of whiners. Everyone wants to fight for more money but it always ends up a wash. Think of this, give them more money, charge more to continue to meet budget, people suffer for a measely few percent that isn’t being paid for. Get back to work and quit crying. The real world will always be overworked and underpaid but that is life.
