'Survivor' will be back for 2008-09

CBS ordered a 17th and 18th edition of Survivor for the 2008-09 season, which will make it the longest-running reality competition show on TV. Jeff Probst will return as host. The move follows a particularly successful performance by Survivor: China last fall; the 15th edition won its time period in viewers and key demographics every week. The Mark Burnett-produced show, which began on CBS in May 2000, has anchored the Eye’s Thursday lineup since February 2001.

Survivor: Micronesia, which will feature fans vs. Survivor favorites, premieres Thursday, Feb. 7. Casting for the 17th edition has already begun.

Glad to see it is still going to continue. It may be going on seasons 17 & 18, but I still love to watch it every week.

Gay men, in fact, won both the first season (Richard Hatch, Borneo) and the most recent season (Todd Herzog, China)

Every year gets better and better. I remember the first season. Man, those people really starved, but now it seems they are better equipped to survive. The host never seems to age. Too bad the competition is not open to Canadians. Look forward to this season. The girls are getting really hot..

I saw last nights opening show, and was happy. The Bus Driver seems a little strange not knowing what a ” pace ” was. She did not even know where the Palm tree was in the directions for the hidden idol. She had hours to dig it up, but failed. She made it through the first night okay though. Interesting people. Looking forward to next week.
