I am saddened by the network decision to cancel Girlfriends. I would have liked to see more ethnic shows on the CW that showed a positive image of African Americans, but we have a new 90210, and gossip girl, one tree hill….etc. alot of white shows with a little pepper sprinkled here and there. Thank you so much for keeping a white world white. I will no longer watch the “CW” an d I will make sure everyone I know and everyone they know to boycott the “CW”. Word of mouth is the best way to advertise.

I don’t think it is fair to us the fans or the actors to just stop the show without a fair good bye, all these years that fans put in to a show & not get a happy ending. I think that by the CW doing this they will lose a lot of the mature crowd viewers, what can 25 to 35 year old women have to relate with that gossip girl show I mean the name says it all (gossip girl) nothing against the show just nothing to relate to as a 28 year old women I am just devastated, you have all these kid & teenage show of these kids running around the city having sex shopping what kind of show is this for kids I see nothing positive in your shows at least Girlfriends was positive it sowed family values what the word friends men or stand for I will no longer view the CW as part of my as well as my kids entertainment I boycott the “CW

I am truly disappointed to find out that my favorite show “Girlfriends” is not coming back on. It is very disrespectful to the dedicated viewers/fans and cast members of the show, for the CW to end the series without a proper series finale. I to will no longer watch the CW. It was hard enough to deal with the fact that “Toni Childs” (Jill Marie Jones) was no longer part of the cast now this. I really would like to see a series finale for “Girlfriends”. It is the right thing to do, for the millions of fans that have watched faithly for 8 seasons. Tracy, Golden, Persia, Reggie, Khalil, Keesha and please never forget Jill I will never forget what CW did to the show!

I am so disgusted by this never-ending cycle. This is soon to happen to The Game- that’s why they moved it to the Friday slot. Who’s at home watching TV on a Friday? Come on…it’s evident and disgusting.

  • Eugenia

I don’t believe it! I don’t believe it! There was no warning! Please bring the GIRLS back, you can’t do this! At least give us a better ending – also, please move The Game and Everybody to another night – Fridays are not good. I guess I have to remember to set the DVR…thanks for good run :-)

Has the CW decided to do a final episode? I got hooked on this show through re-runs a couple years back. It was an awesome show with terrific girls. It was like the LA version of sex and the city.
CW…if your reading this….give us one last show.

We don’t have a lot of show’s on TV and this was one of the good ones. They really need to reconsider putting it back on. I think they’re trying to get rid of THE GAME since they put it on in such a stupid time slot. People are out on Friday nights so their ratings will fall. It should be put back on in it’s original time slot, it was a much better slot.

  • Shauna

I was always taught that if you start something, you finish it. A finish would sure be nice.
And as for The Game, that is another show that I really enjoy watching. They better not cancel that one too!

I pay extra to see “CW” Girl Friends where I live and I hate that you took it off the air. I could believe you didn’t bring the Charter Tony Chiles back. That was a Great Show. I was so proud that show. Plese bring The show back soon. There is nothing good on TV for me anymore. I watch alot of old black show now like The Crosby and My Wife and Kids. I like to think there is some good family black show on TV who looks like me.

I WAS VERY UPSET ABOUT THE SHOW ENDING LIKE THAT.GIRLFREIND WAS MY FAVORITE SHOW,IT’S WAS BASIC ABOUT REAL FRIEND THAT GO THROUGH UP AND DOWN,A TRUE LIFE STORY

If it was such a bad investment to continue what the CW Execs obviously considered to be a subprime show in the 7th season (decision due to the strike my behind)… why are the box sets over 100 dollars on Amazon? Ahhhh, Corp. America continues to find ways to profit off of their bad behavior.

I have to agree with other posters on the fact that Girlfriends was a medium that portrayed black women in a very colorful, powerful, and highly artistic light. They were raw, funny, sexy, educated, ambitious, and eclectic. Let’s not forget the psychological drama (Toni’s narcissism)and how each character played on each others strengths and weaknesses.

Its refreshing to see black women on the air without their behinds hanging out or falling on the floor crying because they heard the words “Lil G, Derrick, Man Man, Shawn and Tyreek, you are NOT the father!”….

thats right it is a shame because alot of people have invested there time and money on this show buying the episodes on dvds and they just stopped just like that everyone wanted to no if aaron was really going to marry joan or come back from iraq dead, if mya was really going to adopt and what was lynn finally going to do with her life and if tony was ever going to forgive joan and meet williams baby finally its a shame that they left there viewers with those questions in there head i personally loved the show and it didnt only represent african americans i think every woman was able to relate with every single episode because every episode had a minning i will trully miss the show. good bye my girlfriends. i love every single character including william. and i will trully miss them.
