'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' returning for a 4th season

Tags:

Sunnyphilly_lFans of the Day Man rejoice! EW has learned that FX comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will return for a 4th season. The half-hour show, about four friends and the Irish dive bar they operate when not getting into unwholesome trouble, is scheduled for a 13-episode run. An air date has not yet been determined, but the writing staff is already sketching out story ideas with production tentatively set to begin in June. The main cast will return in its entirety, including Danny DeVito as the gang’s twisted father figure.

Later this week, EW.com will be interviewing series creator and co-star Rob McElhenney (pictured, center), who plays the sweetly aggressive Mac. We’ll be picking his brain about what madness he, Charlie Day (Charlie, right), and Glenn Howerton (Dennis) have planned for the upcoming season. Got a question you want us to ask? Leave it in the comments and we’ll see if Rob thinks you’re funny enough to get an answer.

How long have these guys been friends for? And are they really as crude in person as they are on the show?
    Best show on FX!!!

I love this show!!! Yet I find it cruelly ironic that I go to school in Philadelphia yet I don’t get this channel. :(

Love this show. Where do they get some of their story ideas from? Are they things they had done or had happen to them. And why are they always so mean to Sweet Dee?? Plus, will Charlie ever get with the waitress. And will Carmen (Brittany Daniel’s character) be back. Oh, can we have more musical eps please. Love the one where the gang dances their a**es and day man by the way. Sorry I have so many questions.

  • Trapper

This is one of the best and least talked about shows on TV.

Rob you made acmeo last year on LOST; any tidbots you can share to unravel the mystery of the island. Any plans to make another appearence on the show. Or will you have Locke make a guest appearance on your show.

this show is sooo under-rated! so happy that FX is sticking with it. the two lead actors (yes, i’ve watched this show since the beginning and still don’t even know their names…sad but true) are really sexy
