Terrence Howard hustles a record deal

Apparently members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences weren’t the only ones impressed by Terrence Howard’s Oscar-nominated role as a pimp-turned-rapper in 2005’s Hustle & Flow. EW has learned exclusively that the 39-year-old Crash veteran, now starring in the Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, has landed a record deal with Columbia Records. “The full name [of the project] is Terrence Howard Presents Me and the Band of Kings,” says a label rep, who adds that the group’s as-yet-untitled debut CD “is slated for a fall release.” Maybe it’s not so hard out here for a pimp after all.

    when terrence howard cd comes out iam going to get it. i know terrence howard cd will be good. i support terrence howard all the way. terrence howard such a good actor. terrence howard will be a good singer. terrence howard is such a good role model for us. i truly do look up to him. terrence howard is my favorite actor. terrence howard will do such a good job with his singing career. i wish terrence howard all the best in his singing career. may god bless him as well.

    I think he needs a chance. We’re used to his acting and maybe some can’t see him as a vocalist. If this song was released without a face or name I believe most people wouldn’t be so hard on him. He’s got a “SEAL” sound about him therefore he’s got my vote.
