Return of 'Gossip Girl' scores big for the CW

Tagged:

Gossip Girl‘s April 21 return helped the CW earned its best-ever Monday ratings among adults 18-34 and young women. The original episode ranked No. 1 for its timeslot among female teens and was second among women 18-34. In the episode, Blair (Leighton Meester) returned to school with her tail between her legs after having been dethroned as the so-called Queen Bee.

Yeah but it only drew 2.44 million viewers total. After all the money spent on the online, print, and TV promotional blitz, isn’t this a disappointing result? Naturally, the network press release would have us believe otherwise but this sure reads like spin to me.
Interesting that One Tree Hill (which aired right after Gossip Girl) outdrew Gossip Girl in all demos and overall without the benefit of the intense hype.

Too bad for the CW. I like Gossip Girl a lot, but it conflicted with the CBS Monday lineup (Big Bang Theory!) and Bones. And now I can’t even watch GG online. How stupid is that?

No “Veronica Mars”? No online streaming of shows? No CW!

I got Condoleeza Rice on the megaphone. Everybody wants to eat a dinosaur.

In the end DEMOS is what mattters to the advertisers not ratings so that’s good news. But I really wish the ratings would increase!
I love Gossip Girl. I’m not confilicted at all on Mondays at 8PM because nothing else interests me and GG is my favourite show right now!

I love Gossip Girl. Anyone having conflict issues should watch the show again. Big Bang Theory? whatever! Bones is boring and so predictable.
    Go Gossip Girl.
