EXCLUSIVE: 'Gossip Girl' season 2 premieres Sept. 1

Gossipgirl_omfg_l
We still don’t know what exactly Gossip Girl’s Serena (Blake Lively) and Georgina (Michelle Trachtenburg) did that drove them to leave New York, but EW.com can exclusively reveal that The CW’s hit will return for season 2 on Monday, Sept. 1. Look for that first episode to feature cast members OMG-ing and LOL-ing in the Hamptons. The CW will offiically announce their schedule in New York during next week’s Upfront presentations.

So, CW, when will Season Four of “Veronica Mars” be announced? That’s the only way I’ll watch anything on the CW again!

  • good lord

well, i’m sure the cw is reeling in disappointment you won’t be watching. get over it, its business, not charity. life goes on. that show was over rated anyway

  • Vance

How much is Entertainment Weekly getting paid to keep pretending that this is a hot show?
It came back from hiatus and was easily one of the lowest-rated shows on television… it’s certainly the lowest-rated show on television to get any ink from the press.
This show is not a big deal. No one is watching it and real people don’t care about it. It’s not even a good show to begin with, which makes this abundance of press across the board seem very suspicious (and annoyingly undeserved).

This looks like a porn cover.

Every morning I have to drive by the OMFG sign near the Warner Bros. Studios and it is an eyesore. Now that they have a season 2, I guess I have to gird my loins for more optical b–l s–t from the WB marketing department. Oy vey!

And people wonder why AIDS, STD’s, divorce and just plain old stupidity run rampant today. Here’s why.

Question: For the people who knock this show, have you ever even watched it? I’m pretty sure that most people–in my experience–who hate on the show have never watched a single minute. We all have our tastes…get over it.
As for the accusation that “no one is watching,” think outside the box. The show is always the number one seller on iTunes come Wednesday morning and before the CW made the dumbass move of pulling the show from online, it did well in that venue as well. Viewers of this show aren’t normal TV watchers. They get their TV from non-traditional sources.

I have watched the show from the start and think it is genius for what it is. This is a show aboung the lives and dramas of rich and beautiful young people. It is smartly written, very funny and with great cast. What more could you wish for?
The fact that it doesn’t have high ratings doesn’t mean a thing. Some of the best show on TV have low ratings.
It’s like saying that only good shows have the highest audience – well in that case go watch Two and a half men or something. It sure has high ratings.

Gossip Girl has actually turned into a really good show for what it is. I think it’s actually up to the same level The OC was at its prime (which was really good).
If you didn’t like The OC or shows of this genre in generally, GG is probably horrible to you :) But to me, pretty good!

  • JJ

We do know why S and G fled — evidently Serena killed someone

  • Shannon

In the episode that aired this past Monday, Serena reveals to Blair her secret and was hesitant at first because she said Blair would then be a part of it… Serena killed someone, so we do know what the secret it.

Are you guys kidding me.Please you dont have any idea how good that show is.It has a beautiful cast great lines a f-ing awesome story line that keeps you guessing.Screw the ratings this show takes it home!

I’ve never watched this show, and I don’t have anything against it, however I take real issue with their advertising — ‘OMFG’? If it means what I’m guessing it means….I work with middle and high school age students, and it really bothers me that a tv network is putting their stamp of approval on language that I believe is inappropriate to such a young and influential crowd….it’s hard enough for kids to grow up these days w/out Hollywood lowering the bar.
