The 4400‘s Megalyn Echikunwoke (pronounced “Meg”) has been cast as the new coroner on CSI: Miami, sources confirm to me exclusively. She fills the void left by Khandi Alexander, who bolted the procedural at the end of last season because, among other things, she *a* *i******e. Allegedly.
24 fans will recall that Echikunwoke played Pres. Palmer’s daughter, Nicole, in the show’s first season.

The character she played on The 4400 pretty much ruined the series, but the actress was very good in the role. It will be interesting to see how a much younger person will play in this role. Hopefully, she can hold her own with the king of overacting, David Caruso.

She looks the same as the one she is replacing. And she looks the same as all the others on the show except for H and the lead detective – all young and all good looking.

Strange, Jimmy, but I thought just the opposite about her on The 4400. I thought the character was interesting but her acting just plain terrible. If anything, the writers probably “dumbed down” the character because she just couldn’t pull it off.

Hmmmmmm… could be interesting. When she first came on the 4400 I thought her acting was terrible but she grew on me. I hate the asterik quizzes, so I won’t even try.

I really hated her character in the 4400 and wasn’t convinced by her acting which I thought terrible. She ruined a show otherwise great but I hope she has improved and anyway, she can’t ruin CSI the same way since CSI:M can’t have a Isabelle Tyler type of character.
PS Now I want the 4400 back!
PPS Just remembered, she was also in the worst Supernatural episode ever (and I love this show). Her acting then was also very bad but she gave us Dean with much less clothes so that’s a plus!!!

Looking forward to seeing Megalyn take on this role. I’ve always enjoyed what she brings to her characters and Isabelle (The 4400) was no different. Glad to see her on a new project.
