Exclusive: 'Sports Night' Duo Reunite on 'Law & Order: SVU'

ABC’s Sports Night is being called out of retirement this fall… by NBC. Sort of.

Sports stars Josh Charles and Teri Polo, who played tragic lovebirds Dan and Rebecca on Aaron Sorkin’s late, great dramedy, are reteaming for an episode of Law & Order: SVU, sources confirm to me exclusively. The duo will play a married couple whose son becomes a suspect in — yep, you guessed it — some kind of grisly sex crime investigation.

The episode is currently being shot and is slated to air on Sept. 30.

    two things:
    1) this made my week.
    2) coincidence that the episode will air the same day the special edition sports night DVD collection releases?
    …probably yes, but that’s gonna be an AWESOME day.

    I don’t know what it is about Teri Polo but I’ve never liked her in any role, her face is somehow distracting….must be residual resentment for seducing Ben on Felicity.

    Yeay! It’ll be great to see the two of them back on screen again. Funny how it’s airing the same day the DVD releases though! Maybe not so funny now that I think of it….

    There’s never enough Josh Charles on my TV. Maybe THIS time some casting director will see him and realise he’s perfect for that fabulous role that’ll finally catapult him to the megastardom he deserves.

    Sports Night was a great show: very well written and the cast was stellar. And yet it’s long gone and we are still stuck with Two and a Half Men.

    Josh was awesome on In Treatment. I also really enjoyed Teri’s character on Num3ers. Wish they’d bring her back.
