Exclusive: 'Heroes' Geeks Out Over Seth Green, Breckin Meyer

Tags:

Breckinseth_lHeroes is getting its very own geek squad.

Real-life BFFs and frequent collaborators Seth Green and Breckin Meyer are nearing a deal to join the cast of Heroes for multi-episode arcs, sources confirm to me exclusively.

As I first teased in this week’s episode of Ausiello TV, the Robot Chicken duo will play Atlanta-based comic book nerds aficionados who cross paths with (and perhaps serve as advisors to) one of the Heroes. I’m told the names of their characters are still in flux, so there’s a chance the cheeky monikers I referenced in ATV won’t stick. Then again, they very well may. (Fingers crossed that at least one of them does.)

Got any theories as to what higher purpose Green and Meyer may serve in the Heroesverse? Is it just me, or do these two bring to mind a certain nerdy advisory panel from another popular sci-fi franchise? C’mon, it can’t just be me.

I don’t know their purpose, but I can guess which Hiro, err, Hero! ☺ Remember, young Mr. Nakamura was following a comic through a goox portion of season 1.

This makes me so excited. I already love so much of the cast, this will just add to it. Seth Green is one of my favorites ever, and Breckin Meyers is awesome as well. I am really hoping this becomes official. Gah, so excited !

I bet they find Issac’s notebook and these guys help them understand what it means.

    gimplygump:
I don’t think its Hiro since he loves comics and won’t need the help.

Good story, but you really need to do some digging on Tori Spelling refusing to do 90210 b/c they’re offering her half of what Jennie & Shannen are getting. Now THAT’S a story.

Now this is the kind of news that makes me happy. I had almost decided not to return to Heroes this season after such a crappy 2nd season that was not entirely related to the writer’s strike. But now that Seth Green and Breckin Meyer may be joined, I may have to change my mind and stick with it a little while longer :) I LOVE these guys!

Seth Green on my TV, even if only in a recurring role, makes me all kinds of happy. Breckin Meyer is pretty cool, as well.

Does this mean we can get an entire episode of Heroes done in stop-motion animation using clunky action figures?

  • TheBookPolice

Y’know, it’s cool that Ausiello’s gotten so big that EW hired him, but I’m not sure I’m crazy about casting spoilers making it to the front page splash. Some of us are trying to stay spoiler-sober.

Is the certain advisory panel you’re referring to the Lone Gunmen from the X-files? Because yes, it does bring it to mind.

UGH! Seth Green is complete schmeg. What’s the mater, Heroes Season wasn’t awful enough? The producers must have sat sown and said, “Hmm, last year was so bad it killed the planned spin-off ‘heroes: origins’ but the flagship show survived! We can do better this year, we’ll get this thing cancelled for sure! But what can we add that would be more awful than everything we did last year…? I got it! We’ll add Jamie Kennedy to the cast! Huh? He’s busy? Ok, just get Seth Green then. He sucks just as bad.”

  • Minutiae

Since Micah’s the big comic fiend, it would make sense for him (and perhaps Monica, as well) to be the beneficiary of these guys’ “expertise.”

  • Kathleen

OK, this news rocks. C’mon… I just love these two and they can DEFINITELY add something to the show because unlike the terrible twins, they can act and tell a story.

  • Mandy

Awesome. Seriously, awesome. These two are halirious and the best part about Heroes (that was missing last season) is the mix of series themes with occasional bits of humor. These two guys can really help the humor quotient. I hope to see them interacting with Hiro, as I think that would be a riot!

  • Mandy

    ****I meant serious themes
