They say death and taxes are the only two certainties in life. I say they forgot one. Clearly, every red-blooded American can also count on finding at least one spine-tingling, show-stopping, blood-curdling, totally exclusive casting roundup a week in the Ausiello Files. Case in point:
• Las Vegas‘ Vanessa Marcil is rolling the dice on a recurring gig at Lipstick Jungle. She’ll play Josie, a very attractive (duh!) up-and-coming music manager who promises Shane (Paul Blackthorne) a gig scoring music for a cool indie feature.
• It’s official: David Arquette is this season’s go-to TV guest star. Fresh off his recently wrapped stint as a "freshcort" on Pushing Daisies, Arquette has landed what could be My Name Is Earl‘s funniest karmic-redemption subject yet. His character, Johnny, is a small-town Evel Knievel-esque stuntman whom Earl wants to cross off his list for sleeping with his girlfriend. There’s just one problem: A past accident has left Johnny with short-term memory issues and an existence not unlike Bill Murray’s in Groundhog Day. Good luck with that one, Earl!
• It’s a Martin reunion! No, not on TV Land, on Everybody Hates Chris! Tisha Campbell-Martin is re-teaming with her old Martin sidekick Tichina Arnold for a multi-episode Chris arc. Campbell-Martin will channel Peaches, a sexy, edgy, vibrant ghetto princess who moves back to Bed-Stuy after a stint in prison and strikes up a frenemyship with Arnold’s Rochelle.
GRRRRRR. I wanted Vanessa back at GH.
ITA, Angelus! I thought the Brenda name dropping stoppage on GH was a tell-tale sign, tho’.
Damn-it – now I will have to watch Lipstiok Jungle! Vanessa should be on a better show.
Since she is in a recurring role, I’ll still keep my fingers crossed that Vanessa will come back to GH in some capacity…sigh
I feel like all the changes over at Lipstick are making it so I have to watch.
I could not be more excited for Everybody Hates Chris!! Why Tichina Arnold does not have an Emmy yet alone a nomination, is beyond me

I totally agree! I WANT VANESSA BACK ON GH!! It’s the only way I’d watch that show again. Although they seem to really not care about the oldies but goodies anymore, dissing them in favor of unoriginal bores like yet ANOTHER mobster in Johnny.

Apparently I’m in the minority but Vanessa Marcil returning to GH would make me STOP watching it.

I love VM but I’m kind of glad that she’s not coming back to GH right now, the writers for the show suck! And I felt that Brenda and Sonny could have had a better connection back in 2002 if there were different writers.
