[...] court. The Republican National Committee even played Heart's song Barracuda at their convention, which really pissed off Heart. I think it's odd, however, that Ms. Palin would invite the media to refer to her by her old high [...]
Heart is still stubborn.
Typical Republicans……steal something without permission or payment.
you means the Dems don’t steal form the people? Have you been following politics in this country at all since you were born?
Wow. Good one.
What’s that awful taste in my mouth. It’s Obama! Palin sucks too but nothing is as awful as a musician havinf an effect on the defecit by endorsing Obama
I think it’s my sem@n.
Lolololololol
If the McCain/Palin team did not properly secure permission to use the song, it shouldn’t have been used. Period. Doesn’t matter if McCain, Obama or your average person on the street – if you didn’t get permission, you can’t use it. I like JK Rowling’s writing, but I can’t start posting it on my website b/c it’s a copyright violation. You’d think the RNC would have learned from “borrowing” from Mellencamp & Bon Jovi.
I would like to think that if I wrote a song I would have a right to say how it is to be used. The posters who are saying, “Get over it”, would be singing a different tune if their song was used to support President Obama. When I read some of these comments, I was completely amazed that anyone could possibly think this woman is qualified to be president, vice president or in any position of power. She’s not educated and can’t even answer simple questions, yet people want her to occupy the most powerful position in this country? It’s not even a question of conservatism vs. liberalism. Can’t you Republicans do better than her?
Completely baffling.
How about you get over something that happened a year and a half ago. Maybe get a life
I don’t know how it all turned out, but why do these singers really care anyway? I, for one, never assumed “Heart” was endorsing Republicans, and frankly I couldn’t care less who they supported. They should stay off their guitar cases and be glad someone is still playing their music.
I can’t believe you people are STILL talking about this. LOL
244 pages of comments – awesome.
Get over it! Talk about politicians playing politics about things… which is what they do… But I’m tired of artists getting bent out of shape over a politician using “their” song. Unless it is copywrited to not ever be used by another human, “GET OVER IT”!
I can’t stand celebrities these days.
I have always loved Heart, and still do. I find it hideous that McCain and Palin didn’t even bother to ask them if they could use their song. That tells me they have some serious ethical issues that need to be addressed. I mean how many people would not be aware of that, and since most of us pretty much know that McCain is not that young, and Sarah isn’t exactly Einstein you would still think their advisors would have warned them of a little thing about copyrights, but apparently they were too concerned that Sarah might go rogue at a moments notice to pay attention to everything? I am glad to see the Wilson sisters didn’t just let the whole issue go either, and as far as I am concerned as a female voter, Sarah does not represent me at all. She stands for putting women backward, and I am not talking about her stance abortion here at all either, but mostly the fact that I have yet to hear anything that resembles an intelligent, well thought out speech come out of her mouth even once. I most especially am not at all impressed with her association with the “tenther’s,” or any of the other teabag nuts that want to secede from the Union. I can’t believe we have this woman who didn’t even finish her governorship turn into such a folk hero.
It’s such a shame. Nancy is so talented, yet so empty-headed. Hey, Nancy, hope you’re lovin’ those “hopeychangey” taxes you’re paying now in Cali! Hey, as your VP says, it’s your “patriotic duty” to give the government the royalties from your work!
Thanks!!
