BklynGirl – I also loved Joan of Arcadia! And I totally agree with you about it.
When Andrea was killed, I almost stopped watching but kept on because of the relationship between Melinda and Jim. How can they have a baby if he dies. If she is pregnant and he dies then that is just wrong. To be honest, I do not even want to watch if his death is going to happen.
This really is a crazy idea – why fix it if it “ain’t broke”? I doubt I will continue to watch if this is going to be the storyline.

I’ve thought that the writers were building to this for a long time. There was an episode awhile back which set up this scenario pretty perfectly. I don’t remember which one it was, but I remember thinking that they were building for Melinda to have to make a choice regarding Jim’s life. I kinda thought at the time that Jim was going to end up in a coma or something would happen that would put him between life and death. Personally, I am willing to go with it and criticize after the fact if I don’t like the direction it is taking. But anyone who is shocked by this really hasn’t been watching the show.
If the producers put half the creative energy into the show as they did their tapdance routine, it might suck less.
I, for one, will stop watching the show if they kill Jim off. I don’t know what it is the last several years, all of these shows that are killing off main characters. I’ve stopped watching quite a few shows because of that. Jim and Melinda are great together; don’t mess with that!
I don’t think they really know their fans. I won’t watch this show again. I’m a shipper and they killed my couple.
Bring back Joan of Arcadia. It was so much better than this crap.
When the show “Close to Home” killed off the husband, I stopped watching. A year later, the show was canceled. If Ghost Whisperer follows this ‘trend’ then I’ll do the same. I hate how shows cannot keep a happy married couple because they think the audience is bored. I’m bored with shows killing off spouses when there is a good marriage!
I started to watch this show for Melinda and Jim couple. Finally an happy couple and they killed him for creativity??!! Someone should remind to them Grey’s Anatomy. Greys is the story of Meredith Grey’s life but people are in love with Meredith and Derek couple. I can’t imagine this show without them.
