'Dancing With the Stars' delights, 'Heroes' falls

Whether they came for the dancing or to gawk at Cloris Leachman‘s cleavage, most TV eyes last night were tuned into ABC’s two-hour premiere of Read the full post.

Heroes is win! Why people rather watch old celebs dance, I’ll never know! But I agree with Evaline, the show is available on the net now, and not many people have to watch the actual show at that time. They can wait until things are more conveinient.
Ratings should be based on internet and TV viewers combined. They’d get a more acurate number.
    And yes! Go Sylar! Woot!

With reality shows, it’s okay to miss an episode or two. It’s just basiclly a talent show. You don’t miss anything important.
But with drama/sci-fi shows, you have to keep watching so you won’t miss any important part of the story-line.
My guess is that the more busy people watch stupid reality shows, because if they’re too busy to watch the episode, then fine. They will have not missed anything.
And that they try to stray away from getting sucked into a show where if they miss an episode, they’re completey lost. It’s better to never have watched at all. I myself avoid soap-operas for that same reason. They’re a daily show, and to miss one day, you’re clueless for the rest. But with shows like American Idol, you can miss one episode, and then the next you watch you’re like “Oh, so and so got kicked off. Hmm.” and it’s not that interesting.
So yes, I agree, one night tells you nothing. Don’t let it fool you!

The problem in Canada with Heroes season 3 premiere is that there was hardly any advertising. Fans who had waited soo long for Heroes to come back on t.v. had given up on the show. Most people I’ve talked to had no clue heroes was coming back on t.v. let alone that the premier was this past monday. Maybe with better advertising on the proper networks and reaching the right markets people will be aware and watch the show. Might I suggest more Much Music or MTV Canada ads? Just a suggestion…

Heroes is a show that draws a lot on classic comic book writing good vs evil and all that. People who don’t like it just clearly aren’t into that kind of story telling.
Being myself massively into classic superhero and villain story telling i can appreciate how well made heroes is and find no merit in lost which has drawn out it’s secrets and story lines too far. Filler anyone?
For anyone who appreciates proper storytelling heroes has it all.
As for celebrities dancing… why are you sitting at home watching celebrities dancing? Go out and dance yourself! I find it saddening that people actually sit at home and watch other people doing things that the viewers themselves should be doing. Including big brother, which is the ultimate: People sitting around and talking about watching other people sitting around and talking. If the sheer insanity and/or stupidity “Reality TV” isn’t apparent to you you need to wake up.

Watched Dancing With Stars b/c of Warren Sapp. And taped 3 hour heroes via my old & trusty VCR. Warren surprised me as did Heroes.

This is an unfair rating. Down here in Houston, Comcast customers were not able to get cable Monday to Wednesday morning for some odd reason. How many of us wanted to watch Heroes, but were not able? Blame Comcast for the low ratings of Heroes, I do. In fact, even by Friday, cable keeps going in and out. It can’t be because of the hurricane, because we have had cable since the hurricane past, it is just during premiere week. It’s like Comcast is trying to manipulate the number of viewers on the shows. To us, Heroes is still #1!!!!

CSI Miami is corny and lines are horrible, but it always offers suspense and has great visuals. It also always on A&E and it has more of a targer audience..plus who wouldn’t want to live in Miami. There obviously isn’t such thing as a CSI: Indianapolis.. well either way I have watched Heroes from day one but it has become way too overated!!

My husband is the one that LOVES Hero’s, I personally could care less. I was bored to tears in the first 10 minutes of the premier, so I went to the other room to watch CSI-Miami, which wasn’t much better but at least Miami. At least you know that with CSI Miami you’re going to get the same boring cliches and Horatio is always going to have that same stance and taking his glasses off at the perfect moment and promising to catch the bad guy, blah blah blah. Hero’s is just pure rubbish and dribble. Here you have writers that write on a kindergarten level and declare it INTELLIGENT,then the stunts are horrible to say the least. Plus they are ALWAYS promising to EXPLAIN what is happening, has happened etc. Much like LOST has done. Nothing EVER comes of the Promises they give to the fans. I just can’t see how anyone can actually sit down and watch HEROS.
Miami at least has the crime detection part that makes it more bearable to watch. Though CSI-LAS VEGAS is the only CSI that rocks!

WTF is up with Heroes’ low ratings? And come on, DWTS 21 milion viewers?!
These ratings aren’t even accurate anymore, since alot of the fans watch their favourite shows on the internet. Me and my friends, for example, watch Heroes on the internet because it doesn’t air in my country.

“Heroes” has a great first season, and clearly still has its share of true believers who will happily decry critics for not “getting” the genre, failing to maintain a proper suspension of disbelief, or expecting too much of the show. “Hey, it’s about superheroes!” or the equivalent is a pretty common refrain, as though that excuses all sins. The fact is, while Season 3 shows occasional glimmers of the likable characters and believable dialogue of Season 1, the blemishes of Season 2 are still all too apparent- most notably, charcters without motivation or depth who swing in the wind, doing whatever the poorly devised scripts demand, regardless of past history or relationships with other characters. I keep anticipating plot developments and even speaking lines verbatim before they come (“Know you? I created you!”), and it’s disappointing. Masochistically, I keep watching- but if its end comes this year, what I’ll really wonder is why it couldn’t have gone out without tarnishing Season 1.
