TGIF Casting Scooplets: 'Ugly Betty,' '90210,' 'Heroes,' 'Desperate Housewives,' and More!

Sylarsusanharry_lTired of following all this endless presidential debate drama? Does our imploding economy have you in the dumps? Longing for some news that’s both uplifting and life affirming? I have a hunch these next four casting scoops will do the trick.

•    Desperate Housewives: Susan’s now-adult daughter, Julie (Andrea Bowen), is hightailing it back to Wisteria Lane later this fall, and I hear she’s got a helluva surprise in store for Mum. (Hint: It has to do with her new BF.)

•    90210: Forget middle-aged Dylan. The 90210 dude we’re most looking forward to meeting is the bastard son of Harry (Rob Estes) and that mean blond lady – and meet him we will later this fall. Producers are still sketching out the character, but this much I can tell you: His name is Sean, he’s in his early 20s, and he’s described as being both wholesome and absolutely charming. Word is a personal tragedy prompts him to go in search of his real parents.

•    Ugly Betty: Sarah Lafleur (ESPN’s Playmakers) has booked a recurring role as Molly, a kindergarten teacher and fiancée to Lost‘s freighter captain Meade Pubs’ new CFO, Connor (Grant Bowler). My Betty snitch whispers that Daniel will start to fall for Molly, setting the stage for another tension-filled triangle at Mode.

•    Heroes: Amid buzz that the show’s next volume will be titled "Fugitives," sources confirm that Tim Kring and Co. are on the prowl for an actor to play a badass FBI agent a la Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive. The character is slated to show up in this season’s 14th episode.

Was I right? Did they do the trick?

If they want a Tommy-Lee-Jones-like character, I’m thinkin’ they should just go ahead & hire TLJ.

  • Richard

I’m thinking that Julie is pregnant or engaged but I’m not sure which. And I hope you mean the fugitive will be in the show’s 4th season.

i finally watched heroes, and so far nobody’s metioned teh vmars reunion! yay! any chance we’ll be seeing more francis capra anytime soon? i mean, other than a couple of episodes of heroes

  • allie

Grant Bowler will be in Ugly Betty? Is that Aussie Grant Bowler? Wow, that’s a suprise!

  • Jessica S

@Tess-KBell and Francis’ very brief screen time together was my favorite part of the episode! I seriously hope we get to see them together again. And since Peter is supposed to be in his body, that could very well happen!

  • Cody

You’ve been my Andrea Bowen savior ever since you confirmed she was living through the twister!!! Keep us posted on this massive scoop!
(PS. I’d love you forever if you know how long she’s staying….)

an actor to play a badass FBI agent a la Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive
Uhhh, correct me if i am wrong, but do they not already have one of these in HRG/Jack Coleman?

  • kelly

Actually, I still want Dylan. The only reason I watch the new 90210 is because of the old cast — the new cast is either uninteresting ( almost all of them) or just not interesting enough without the originals (Ryan Eggold).

“…actor to play a badass FBI agent a la Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive.”
    Christopher Judge!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Ask Ausiello – why are you such a flaming fruitbasket?

  • Tony

Best under-rated character that has been in everything, and FINALLY won an Emmy: Zeljko Ivanek should play the FBI tough guy on Heroes. It’s one of the few shows that he hasn’t appeared on (yet).

  • Alison

In classic Heroes role reversal fashion, I bet the Tommy Lee Jones like character is chases HRG. It makes the most sense, because up until now the “Tommy Lee Jones” like character has been Noah. You heard it here first!
This won’t air until January, you tease. :)
    Love ya!
