Exclusive: 'Housewives' Desperate for Steven Weber

Desperatehousewives_l

I’ve long suspected that Julie Meyer was harboring some serious unresolved daddy issues, and this casting scoop pretty much confirms it: When Susan’s now-adult daughter (Andrea Bowen) returns to Wisteria Lane next month, she’ll be bringing along one helluva surprise: boyfriend Steven Weber.

I kid you not.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Desperate Housewives has cast the ex-Wings man as Julie’s thrice-divorced college professor-turned-lover, whose sudden appearance leads Susan to double her crazy-pill intake.

Lucky for Mom, the happy couple’s visit will be brief; as of now, Weber and (presumably) Bowen are only on board for one episode.

Knee-jerk reaction? Intrigued by this unusual pairing? Or is this Housewives‘ ickiest plot to date? Comment away!

Honestly – after ALL that went on , in the season premiere episode last Sunday – this comes as no Major surprise to me .Marc Cherry > thought things were getting a little too quiet on Wisteria Lane – and has begun to really “shake things up” !
I really like Steven Weber, and I am so happy that Andrea Bowen gets to reprise her role as Julie – she’s a good actress ! I hope the storyline , is allowed to continue – and maybe Julie comes back – for a bit – in the Spring ? I can’t wait to see the look on Susan’s face – when she sees that her daughter is dating a MUCH OLDER man !

I love Steven Weber. He never disappoints me. And since I watch “Desperate Housewives,” I am happy that he’ll be making an appearance. But what a role!!!!

I think his goal right now is to appear on as many primetime shows as possible. How can he possibly be everywhere at once?!

  • Jamie

I don’t care, I’ll watch Steven Weber in anything! Woohoo!

I love Steven Webber, but the one thing this show doesn’t need is more reasons for Teri Hatcher’s Susan to act crazy/kooky.

Why is Julie only in it for one episode? She was the only one who kept Susan under control.

I love Steven Weber. Loved him on Wings, I even loved Studio 60…
    Exciting.
But yes, less Susan would be key.

I wish Julie and her beau would come to Wisteria Lane and make Susan so crazy that she needs to go to a live-in facility for a few seasons. Her clumsy goofball schtick has gotten old and stale. She’s more an annoyance than anything else. I would love to see Andrea Bowen Back full-time. She can mind the house while Mom is away. Paging Marc Cherry!

I really like Steven Weber, and since noone has found a decent show for him to be on ‘ll watch him anyway I can.

    It’s a male cougar!!!! Eeeeeeeeek!
    .
Seriously, though. Desperate Housewives is already dead. Weber should continue to appear one hour later on ABC Sunday nights.

Good casting but when are the gay men going to get a storyline???

  • Alyssa

Um…that is just wrong..I mean, I like Steven Weber, but, well…that is just wrong..
