'Privileged' Scoop: Megan's MIA Mom is Sharon Lawrence!

Someone’s got some splainin’ to do.

Privileged has cast NYPD Blue alum Sharon Lawrence in the pivotal role of Shelby, deadbeat mom to Megan (Joanna Garcia) and Lily (Kristina Apgar). Brash and larger-than-life, Ma resurfaces 15 years after leaving her kids to fulfill her own destiny.

And I repeat: Someone’s got some splainin’ to do.

Lawrence is committed to appearing in two episodes (the first of which airs in January), but that number could climb provided The CW does the right thing and orders this underappreciated show’s back nine.

What are you waiting for, CW? Do the right thing, dammit!

I LOVE Privileged! Do you hear ME, CW?!?

    Pretty good news.
Now, if only the CW could give the pick up. That’ll show that dawn ostroff didn’t lose all her brain cells when she moved from UPN to the CW. Of course giving a full order to 92010 doesn’t bode well or doing a remake of melrose place either.

Privileged is amazing. Is so cute and fun. I hope they open their eyes.
And i want to hear what mom says.

Man, you have no idea how gratifying and relieving it is to know that Privileged has Ausiello’s seal of approval. I wasn’t sure at first, but it’s wonderful to have that confirmation and even better to know that we will get scoops from time to time.
And the CW should make quick work towards its first intelligent decision since conception, something along the lines of renewing Privileged for the remaining season!

I agree. I was pleasantly surprised that I found myself enjoying this show. It has turned out to be my favorite of all the new shows this season. Please keep and renew this show CW, we love it up her in Canada. Now if only they could so something about the dreadful acting on 90210.

Awesome show. One minor (yet potentially major) issue is that Megan is on the verge of being more selfish and annoying than Meredith Grey. I hope the writers tone her down a bit. She’s cute, but the “poor me” act is getting old.
