Crime clearly pays for CBS. The Eye net won sleepy Friday night, averaging 11.2 million viewers,` according to early Nielsen estimates, with a combination of 11.1 million for Ghost Whisperer (pictured), a rerun of NCIS (11.3 million, almost doubling now-canceled The Ex List‘s numbers in the hour), and Numb3rs (11.2 million). ABC finished a distant second, thanks to ho-hum numbers for Wife Swap (4.6 million) and Supernanny (5.4 million); Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics (4.9 million) fared similarly. But things continued to look truly desolate at NBC with Deal or No Deal (5.5 million), freshman adventure series Crusoe (4.2 million), and relocated Lipstick Jungle (3.3 million). The CW’s comedy block — Everybody Hates Chris and The Game (both with 1.7 million) — continued to struggle as well.
CBS won Sunday, too, with early-evening football boosting 60 Minutes (18.3 million) and The Amazing Race (14.1 million) — though those numbers are even more approximate than usual because football overruns throw the timing off. Pigskin also scored for NBC, as the Sunday night match-up between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles pulled in about 15.8 million viewers from 8:30 to 11 p.m. ABC remained solid with faithful Desperate Housewives (15.7 million), while The CW barely registered with repeats of Valentine (623,000) and Easy Money (501,000).

You know you’re in trouble when The Ghost Whisperer kicks your butt. 30 Rock’s doing it’s part, but Heroes is starting to weigh the network and it’s ratings down. Unless they shape up real soon, Heroes will be cancelled.
NBC keeps making poor decisions. Only 3 million people watched a new episode of Lipstick Jungle? I’ll never understand why NBC keeps renewing these poorly rated shows. They cancel all the good ones and leave the crappy ones no one watches.
I was wondering – with people having the ability to see some network’s episodes on their computer any time they want – are these being counted and included?
I didn’t even know Wife Swap and Supernanny were still on. I’m still alittle sad the ex list was cancelled but at least Life was moved to Wednesdays so it can find a better audience.
NBC let Journeyman go last year and brought on shows like Knight Rider and gave up on great shows like Scrubs.
There big show is Deal or No Deal with isnt even a show, really.
Regarding Supernanny. Love the show. Hope it stay on.
Who’d have ever though 30 Rock would be NBC’s 7th rated show. (And 5th scripted.)
God help NBC when football season’s over…
I stopped watching NBC when they cancelled Las Vegas without wrapping up the series after the writer’s strike and then moving Friday Night Lights to DirecTV. Whoever’s in charge needs to pull their head out.
