Have you had trouble watching Dexter this season without thinking, “Man, the guy who plays Quinn looks just like Gossip Girl‘s Bart Bass, only younger”? Apparently, you’re not the only one. Sources confirm to me exclusively that GG has stolen away Desmond Harrington — aka Deb’s latest sparring partner — to play Bart’s baby bro, Jack, for a multi-episode arc.
As I teased in last week’s Ask Ausiello, the handsome devil shows up in Gotham in early ’09 to see the Bass clan through a crisis. And before you go freaking out insisting that I should’ve slapped a spoiler alert on this column — “If Harrington’s working on GG,” you might suspect, “Quinn must be getting written off Dexter!” — let me remind you that the Showtime hit is done shooting for this season. So it doesn’t mean anything.
Well, not necessarily. Hmmm….
So what do you think? Is the Rescue Me alum trading up or down by switching teams? Which of Girl‘s girls do you think will catch the older-but-not-as-old-as-Bart-older man’s eye? And if you had to choose between a role on Dexter and a role on GG, which show would you go with? So many questions… If only there were someplace you could go to supply answers. Oh, I know. I can see it. Maybe he’ll hook up with Vanessa and give her an actual storyline so she can stop interfering with other pairings like NJ, CB, and DS. Plus, she’s already friendly with Chuck…wouldn’t take much to get friendly with his uncle.
I’d SO rather a gig on GG. Dexter makes my stomach churn with all the gore and blood. I can’t handle it. And Bart’s baby bro should hook up with Blair. Oh how scandelous!!!
If they are bringing another Bass in that means there might be another Bass on the way out. If Bart is the GG character to die it would be a convienient way to bring the uncle in.

Great addition, maybe a hook up lily because of course it is bart dying (which is the family crisis he has to arrive in NYC for)…GG is the best show ever…note to Josh and stephanie hurry up and give Vanessa a storyline her character is so boring atm

it’s sad that this casting news leaked because it totally spoiled the ‘who’s going to die’ plotline. there’s no mystery to it anymore.

Serena could hook up with him, or Blair. I still think the GG writers dropped the ball of having a torrid affair breakout between Bart & Serena. There was good chemistry between them…

I knew Desmond from a long time ago, so I love seeing him on TV. I don’t get Showtime now, so this is great news for me!! Love him, he is so sweet and cute!

I’d love to see Chuck and Bart have a challenging relationship. They’re both good actors.

Yay! I would love to see him on Gossip Girl. It would be so hot if he hooked up with Serena…or Blair, either way. They’re eighteen anyways(well, Blair is).
