How’s this for a top-secret Fringe twist: Olivia’s got, like, the coolest sister ever!
Sources confirm to me exclusively that rising star Ari Graynor, who played Meadow’s college roomie on The Sopranos and, more recently, won raves for her hilarious turn as Kat Dennings’ boozy BFF in Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, has been tapped to play the younger sister of Anna Torv’s Olivia.
Graynor will appear in a minimum of three episodes, the first of which airs in January. Per a Fringe insider, Graynor’s character pays Olivia a surprise visit and ends up crashing at her place for a few weeks. “She’s dealing with some man trouble back home,” the insider explains. “But the exact nature of that trouble isn’t clear.”
‘Lil sis also has a ‘lil travel companion: a daughter.
Anyone out there see Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist? If so, I’m guessing you’re as jazzed about this casting coup as I am.

Love love loved this girl in Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and if she’s half as good in Fringe as she was in it then this is the best casting news ever!!!

Ari is fantastic. I saw her in a play in NY called Dog Sees God a few years back and she stole the show. I’ve followed her career since and she’s fabulous in everything she does. I’m excited to see her on one of my new favorite shows. This girl should be a HUGE star!!!

Seriously, what were they thinking when they cast Ana Torv for a tv series? She has no on-screen charisma and little talent.
Perhaps they can kill her off and replace her with the sister character.
Maybe Ari’s character can crack a smile off Olivia’s face using her gum!
For some reason it seems like there is a general lack of warmth with Australian actresses – Anna, Nicole, Naomi and Cate.

Aside from the daugther, everything about Ari’s character has been derived from THE 4400.
Wow, they look alot alike. Hopefully this will add more humor to the show, because any scenes without Walter can be a little boring…

Bad enough she’s as gorgeous as she is on “Fringe.” (And for those complaining about her reserved behavior on the show, consider what the character’s emotional life is.) I watched her on Jimmy Kimmel the other night and the real thing (with Aussie accent) nearly blew the screen out of my set…

I think Anna is great! I think the sister will be great!
Per the comment below…if they get rid of Anna, they get rid of this viewer. I want them to stick with Olivia and Peter the whole way through.
