Exclusive: A Very Brady 'Samantha Who?'

Samanthawhoapplegate_l
Here’s the story: Carol Brady’s headed to Samantha Who?!

Sources confirm to me exclusively that iconic Brady Bunch matriarch Florence Henderson has been tapped to play grandma to Christina Applegate’s title character this January.

Gram comes to town to help settle an argument between Sam’s mom (Jean Smart) and aunt (Christine Ebersole). As TVGuide.com reported earlier this week, Auntie’s a little miffed because her sister used Sam’s amnesia as an opportunity to forget about her sibling’s existence.

Enter the peace keeping, conflict resolving machine that is one Mrs. Brady.

It makes me feel very old that Florence Henderson is playing Christina Applegates’ grandmother.

Who cares about this show. If it wasn’t for DWTS the show would be gone. It is a time slot hit, and if it is indeed coming back in January before Dancing returns then it will bomb badly.

I care about this show. It’s funny and sweet. Thanks for the updates.

I have been TRYING to like SAMANTHA WHO? mostly because they have an awesome regular cast – in addition to Applegate, Jennifer Esposito, Melissa McCarthy, and Jean Smart are all excellent actress/comediennes and they always seem to cast the guest roles with actors I admire.
BUT – the show never rises beyond adequate to the level of “must-see” and I guess that’s mostly due to the writing. Cybill Shepherd gave a valiant try in a recent guest spot but was basically wasted.
I love Florence “Carol Brady” Henderson and ADORE Christine Ebersole so hopefully the show will allow them to sparkle!

Whoopy you are the number one in any show. The first time i saw you and the way you can tell that you are a natural actor. Don’t ever let anyone say you are not number one. All shows that I have watched I see you as the number one actor.
Lots Of Love and Best Wishes For The future and for Chrismas.

I enjoy the show. Much better than shows like Two and Half Men and According to Jim which so many people think are just hillarious.

I was wondering if she will be playing Regina’s mom (Jean Smart) or Howard’s mom (Kevin Dunn)? The way the article is written it sounds like Regina’s mom, but would like to know. Just curious.

Can’t stand either of those aging cows. Henderson looks like a gargoyle and it’s too bad Applegate’s cancer didn’t go to her brain and kill her so I wouldn’t have to endure those seemingly endless previews of that pathetic show. More Jean Smart.

Jeez Crystal, tell us how you really feel. Totally uncalled for remarks.
I’ve never thought Henderson was a particularly attractive woman, but she sure does look good for her age.

AWESOME! I love Samantha Who…Christina Applegate is so quirky and funny, and Jean Smart is divine.

Crystal, I have one word for you – KARMA!!
Will be fun to see Florence Henderson as Jean Smart’s mom and Christina Applegate’s grandma ..

wow I was really thinking of this in the future that Sams grandma will appear (Reginas mom)because Regina (is worst than Sam) and now comes the woman worse than her mom-her grandma! I like Jean Smart so much and I’m looking forward to see who plays her Mom and Sams grandma in “SW”
