Even on a Tuesday when it only aired repeats, CBS was able to win two of the evening’s three prime-time hours: Powerhouse NCIS took the 8 p.m. hour with 14.1 million viewers, down 24 percent from last week’s original episode, while The Mentalist won 9 p.m. with 13.7 million, down 27 percent from last week’s chart-topper. The Eye’s Without a Trace took more of a hit at 10 p.m. — its audience (8.5 million viewers) was down 31 percent week-to-week, which was enough to give the win to a new episode of NBC’s Law & Order: SVU (10.9 million, up 6 percent).
As for the rest of NBC’s night, it was bright-ish. The Biggest Loser: Families block scored its biggest ratings this season with an average 9.2 million viewers. As usual, it grew its audience over the course of the two hours — from 7.8 million to 10.2 million. In the 8 p.m. hour, that placed the Peacock third, behind CBS and Fox, which scored with an original episode of House (13.9 million, up 11 percent from last week). In the 9 p.m. hour, NBC was second, behind CBS and ahead of Fox, which served up a repeat of Fringe (7.1 million).
As for ABC, Tuesdays between Dancing With the Stars seasons continue to be a sore spot: A holiday-themed installment of America’s Funniest Home Videos grabbed 7.3 million sets of eyes at 8 p.m. (down 18 percent from the crowd drawn to the Alphabet’s repeat airing of Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town in that slot last week). The 9 p.m. hour brought back-to-back original episodes of According to Jim, which averaged 5.2 million viewers. That’s 10 percent less than what tuned in to last week’s premiere double-header. At 10 p.m., Eli Stone scrounged up only 4.9 million viewers, a number almost equal to last week’s. Not that that’s good news.
Rounding out the night, The CW offered up repeats of 90210 and Privileged and the numbers reflect it: 1.2 million and 1.1 million, respectively.

The CW’s Privileged: Please Watch It

How is it that According to Jim is still on the air and ABC is canceling Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money, two quality shows? Does anyone even realize that According to Jim is still on the air?
Clearly 5.2 million people realize According to Jim is still on, but you’re right, that show is awful.
Hmmmm…. I didn’t even know A2J was still on the air. may have to check it out again. Great to see SVU still kicking butt!
I watched HOUSE and it was GREAT!!!
Yea, SVU can “kick butt” when everthing else is in reruns.
After 10 – yup, count ‘em, 10 -seasons, you are still getting almost 11 million viewers? On a network that barely promotes your show and has since given up the time slot to Jay Leno without a second thought? And yet you still beat a much newer show(s) in key demos (yup, the much-coveted 18-49 demo goes to SVU every week)… I’d definitely categorize that as “kicking butt”!
