Exclusive: Jessica Alba joins 'Office' Super Bowl bash

Tags:

Jessicaalba_lRemember how yesterday I reported that The Office had scored the equivalent of a touchdown with a two-point conversion by getting Jack Black to appear in its post-Super Bowl episode? Well, they just won the freakin’ game!

Jessica Alba’s doing the ep, too!

An NBC insider has confirmed for me exclusively that the erstwhile Dark Angel is joining Black in the cast of the bootlegged movie the Dunder Mifflin staff try to watch during the workday. No further deets are available at present, but c’mon, isn’t knowing she’s doing it enough?

That’s what I thought.

So it’s almost a rhetorical question, but I have to ask it, anyway: Are you more likely to watch the P-SB episode with one of the Fantastic Four in it? Or would you prefer the hour focus solely on Michael and Co.? Sound off below. (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

i’m still bummed they chose the office over a live 30 rock (which was pitched).

  • evie

who cares? she’s like the suckiest actress of her generation. she gets jobs cause she’s pretty, not because she has any actual talent. Im glad i dont watch the office, otherwise id be extremely disappointed in this casting news!

  • c

I would rather just focus on the residents of The Office than its guest stars. Major guest stars hurt 30 Rock, and they only got back on track after the Steve Martin ep…plus, i don’t like Alba.

Jessica Alba? Can’t she just drop off the planet? I think I’m leaning more towards NOT watching it if she’s on.

Ugh. I love The Office, but I really don’t like Jessica Alba. I really hope her part in the episode ends up being minimal.

  • frostysnowman

Jessica’s acting is not really up to par, even in the Revlon commercials that she does. I’m not sure why this is such a big deal. I would likely not watch knowing that she is going to be in this episode, even though hearing that Jack Black would appear made me intrigued at first. NBC really needs to rethink their obsession with stunt casting. It only distracts from the characters we already love watching.

  • Anna

How disappointing. I understand trying to attract more viewers (from a ratings perspective), but she has got to be one of the worst actresses in Hollywood. Most of her movies tank, and she has no discernible talent.

I don’t want this episode to be all about guest stars. I hope she doesn’t become the center of attention, she doesn’t fit into the office ambiance.

  • Liddy

I’d rather she stay far away from Steve and Co. I’ll watch, but under protest. I can’t stand stunt casting.

  • nicolars

I think she is a awful actress, and it’s sad that the show would work with someone of such terribly limited abilities.

  • JB

Focus, you chumps. She’s smoking hot. Smoking. Hot. I’ll be rocking the rewind button all episode.

  • Limey

Ausiello, can’t believe you are this excited over Jessica Alba??!! Surely it’s not her talent *cough cough* that is exciting you, this girl can’t act at all, she’s horrible. I’m disapointed in you, thought you had better taste.

  • AlbaFan

Let’s see…(Anna, Christy, Evie, probably c)…I’m guessing that you are all women. No wonder you don’t like Jessica Alba. If you were a man you’d be like OH YEAH!!! LOVE ME SOME ALBA!! She’s only one of the FINEST women on the planet!!! I for one will be watching The Office! Go Alba!!

  • Vanessa

I’m a huge fan of the office, and I’m excited to see Jessica on the office.

  • Robert

Just because Jessica Alba is going to have a small part in the show, doesn’t mean people need to not watch… Sounds like a bunch of people are jealous of her just because she’s made something out of her beauty… Sure she’s not a great actress, but she has become famous for a reason, so let’s just enjoy the show without worrying who is going to be making cameos. Geez…
