I wish they’d bring Gio back. He made everything so much more entertaining. And he is so much more fun to look at than Henry…and Henry 2.0
Gio, come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever, Wes. Just because you lost “Pushing Daisies” or whatever else you’re moaning over, that doesn’t make UB into crap. Honestly, the only people who are hating on UB these days are those who aren’t getting what they want (i.e., the Henry fans, the Gio fans). But the truth is that UB is still a great show – and it’s definitely gotten better during Season 3. If you watch closely, you’ll see that Season 1 vibe has returned, which is awesome.
Yes Georgia, couldnt agree more! Season 1 vibe has totally returned. Loving Season 3. People need to get over Gio and Henry. I personally will be sad to see Val Emmick go, but cant wait to see this new guy. Geez people, relationships don’t always last!! Good to see Betty has the struggles the rest of us have in holding onto a great guy.
So long as Henry stays far far away I’ll be happy.
Sick of the love life of betty. Dragged on too long with the breakups. Henry was a loser and fake. Gio was great. Guve us more MODE action. Vanessa is the hinge pin. Maybe new guy can have a gay sister and Betty gets close and finds out later and freaks. Ha ha Mark can be her sounding board and hip her up a bit. She’s too nieve for NYC living and Big Fashion action…
OMG.
They might as well bring Henry back! And I have no issue in that whatsoever!
Forget Daniel, Forget Gio, Forget Jesse, Forget the new Nerd.
BRING.
BACK.
HENRY.
End.
Of.
Story.
The show suffers without him!!!!
I disagree with the two below who said this show was returning to its Season 1 vibe. In Season 1, Betty was already beginning to develop into a mature adult. In Season 3, she’s all over the place, acting more childish and whiney with each episode. I can understand some regression in her progress because everyone has their flaws and setbacks, but there have been moments for me where Betty is simply an unlikable character. For me, it’s not about “getting over Gio or Henry.” It’s about getting Betty back on track to become a stable, compassionate adult again. The fact that the writers can’t maintain one solid plot-line for more than a few episodes isn’t helping much.
Jesse storyline was barely developed. Why even bother introducing the character. And it’s too bad, Val Emmich was definitely watchable.
Ugh, absolute HATRED all around. Henry was horrible for Betty, and if this guy is gonna be like him then count me out! Gio actually loved Betty for who she was and never betrayed her–bring Freddy Rodriguez back!! But, if not, I’m kind of digging Jesse.
Gio was the best person for Betty.
End of story.
:/
Frankly Christy, I think you’re being nit-picky. Sure, not everything in Season 3 flows seamlessly with the events from Season 2. But in the first place, the general direction that Season 2 took was NEVER supposed to happen. That stupid love triangle, for instance? What a waste of friggin’ time! Who cares about Henry and Gio? And why did that storyline ever take center stage in the first place?
Personally, I think the writers finally realized their mistakes and are now making up for it. So, some things may seem a little out of place (i.e., Betty’s naive behavior at times, her crazy wardrobe), but in general, what we’re seeing is a return to Season 1′s roots. I’ve been watching this show since the beginning, and I can really see it. The changes have been positive, and I do like it.
One would think that television producers would learn from the mistakes of other shows (think LOST) where random characters, who may become regulars, are brought into an existing storyline (can you say Nikki and Paulo?).
Betty and Gio had wonderful chemistry that was just beginning to be explored when it was brought to a crashing halt. In a nutshell, the powers that be need to simply make a plan and stick to it.
First of all, I agree with the people who say that Ugly Betty has gotten better in Season 3. I wasn’t as glued during Season 2 as I was in Season 1. And now I’m back!
Secondly, I’m LMAO at all the fans/girls who are lamenting over Henry and b*tching over Gio. Face it: They were BOTH wrong for Betty! Henry was too much of a wimp who acted like a senior citizen, and Gio barely knew her. He crushed hard on her, and then proceeded to act like it was HER fault that she supposedly “broke up” with him?! (Um…memo to Gio: You guys were never a couple to begin with.) Talk about being obsessive. Trust me – had he been on the show long enough, I think the writers would’ve shown that Gio isn’t exactly the picture of perfection.
But this is all pointless anyway. You know why? Because this show isn’t about putting Betty’s love life front and center – and the writers know it! And with that in mind, the writers probably won’t make that same mistake with Betty and Matt’s relationship
I liked Henry until they assassinated his character by having him get Charlie pregnant. Gio was domineering, pushy, and slightly misogynistic in the ways he kept trying to put Betty into submission, particularly in her birthday episode. Not attractive at all. None of the other ones have interested me at all. Betty’s love life has never been the crux of the show and I really hope they don’t try to make it the focus now.
