'Lipstick Jungle': Cancellation reports were premature

Tags:

Apparently, reports of Lipstick Jungle’s cancellation were premature. At NBC’s annual Television Critics Tour in Universal City, Calif., today, NBC primetime president Angela Bromstad said the Brooke Shields drama had not, in fact, been canceled, and that it remains in contention for fall 2009. “We haven’t officially canceled Lipstick Jungle,” she told critics. “There are alternatives we may look into and it is in conversations for fall. We have to wait to see what the (other pilots) are.” More from NBC’s critics’ tour later.

why do they have to put fans through this false sense of hope and torture. the ratings were lower than you could possibly imagine — even lower than the tonight show. So why are they giving fans this false sense of hope?

I hope there’s place for this show in the fall. Especially cancelling 5 hours of primetime TV programming for Jay Leno, I’m not sure what’s going to happen.
The advertising for the last episode only stated “Season Finale” rather than “Series Finale” so I was hopeful – that was, until they showed a montage of ‘heartwarming’ clips from the whole season at the end. They (the Network) don’t know what they’re doing!

Please don’t cancel Lipstick Jungle – it is a wonderful end to a work week – women with careers, love lives, great clothes, problems…..a nighttime soap opera for us that miss those kind of shows.

LEAVE LIPSTICK JUNGLE ALONE! It is a wonderful show. Why cancel a show that already has a following? I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lipstick Jungle and can’t wait for it to come back. :)

Show is pretty lame – needs to be axed.

Please don’t cancel LJ – it’s one of the greatest shows out there for women to watch!! Independent, career-minded women who have maintained strong friendships and have led interesting social lives are hard to find on TV! Leave this gem alone!

This is the only show I have come to look forward to each week. It seems all of my old favorites have gone down in quality. Please keep it on the air.

I have several female friends (including myself) that LOVE this show and we ALL fit the demos NBC desires (smart women with disposal incomes)

I love this show! It’s one of the only shows that’s still a “must-watch for me.” I’m 32, single, and a lawyer, just the demographic NBC should be hoping for. Please don’t cancel this show!!

Please, please, please… do not cancel Lipstick Jungle. It’s just getting warmed up! The worst thing NBC could do at this point is cut this quality show from the line-up. In my opinion, it just needs a better time slot with better ads…
