'Private Practice' exclusive: 'Swingtown' star is Addison's new man

Joshhopkins_lIt isn’t enough that Private Practice‘s Addison (Kate Walsh) can’t go a week without a guy; now, it seems, she can’t go a week without more than one. Though in tonight’s episode, she and beau Kevin attempt to resolve their relationship issues, and she takes a closer look at Wyatt, the show has just cast yet another love interest for her!

I’ve learned exclusively Swingtown‘s Josh Hopkins has signed on for five episodes as the latest surgeon with whom our lead MD will play doctor.

So what do you think, folks? You psyched about a Hopkins/Walsh pairing? Or is the joke about Addison’s bedroom needing a revolving door becoming less funny? Weigh in below. (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

More credible actors but bland love interests. how about soemthing intersting like a morris chestnut or
    john leguzamo

  • T.T

how about having alex (from greys) become addisons love interest

  • Michelle

Ugh, not another one! Good grief, Shonda, pick one! I LIKED Kevin. Wyatt’s an ass. Didn’t watch Swingtown so I don’t have an opinion on the new guy.

    Who is Wyatt?

  • necle

i really liked kevin. why cant they let addison have a good, stable relationship. there are many other characters whose romantic struggles would still keep the show interesting if thats what theyre worried about. maybe have her break up, but not so quickly and not over silly things.

  • Brenda

    they’ve turned her into a wh*re

  • J

He is hot. I like. Kevin was way boring and a outsider so that wasnt going to work obviously. A outsider has no chance on GA or PrP unless you are Dead Denny. Hopefully this guy will work out.

I think what we are seeing is a desperate attempt to find an actor who can generate ratings-building heat with already hot Kate Walsh. Not sure of the names of the actors who played Sam and Wyatt, but they couldn’t measure up.
Josh Hopkins couldn’t measure up to Calista Flockhart on Brothers and Sisters (an ensemble), so I am not so sure he is up to challenge of matching a bona fide leading lady!

Josh Hopkins was fabulous on Swingtown, so I’m glad to see he’s found another role. I just wish it were on a show I actually watched.

  • Barbarino

Josh Hopkins’ character on Swingtown was not a ‘lothario’ as the headline states. Just sayin’.

Addison’s always been a slut, but now it’s even worse. It seems she just can’t keep it in her pants. Pathetic.

  • Yolanda

Let’s hope they generate some heat!

How is Addison a wh0re? She has only been with that boring cop guy since the show started. Thank gawd they got her away from shifty Pete. He is the one horrible thing about that show.
I am so glad he is coming on. He was so great on Swingtown. Addison is a great character herself but they need a real actor to get it on with Addison. She needs someone in her league. That’s why she had chemistry with every guy on Grey’s. Also I want hard Addison back too. She’s a little too soft. Couldn’t stand her calling Swat guy. What freakin swat guy wears a shirt advertising he’s swat!

  • Jane

Who cares about Addison. It’s all about Pete/Violet! Damn you, Sheldon.

  • bibi

Exactly. Who cares about boring Addison. Pete and Violet rule! They are the best thing on that damn show.
