'Quarterlife' creators to pen a series for CBS

Quarterlife creators Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick are plotting their return to primetime. Herskovitz has told EW.com exclusively that the team behind Once & Again and thirtysomething sold a drama script to CBS that focuses on a marriage that works. “I still can’t tell you too much,” Herskovitz said while walking the red carpet of the Producers Guild Awards on Jan. 24. “We are hoping to get it in under the wire so we can make it on in the fall. It is just life. We got rid of genre a long time ago. We try to talk about life and not focus on things like [hospitals] or cops.”

Herskovitz has said that he and Zwick plan to continue producing websides of quarterlife, their Internet show about a twentysomething blogger (Bitsie Tulloch). Although NBC canceled it after one week last February, the webisodes averaged a robust 300,000 viewers. (Additional reporting by Carrie Bell)

Quarterlife was horrible, it was no shock NBC pulled it right away. The other two shows were alright, but if I remember correctly they didn’t do that well in the ratings either. And a marriage that works? Who would want to watch that? I can only imagine that would be horribly boring…

I don’t agree with Jessica about the new show. I think seeing a marriage that works is very interesting. There is still conflict and struggle, but the two people work through them instead of giving in. Look at the Coach and his wife on Friday Night Lights. That’s a marriage that works, and it’s the most entertaining relationhip on TV right now.
I do agree that Quarterlife is horrible. Plain horrible.

Maybe this will prompt the powers that be to FINALLY release season 3 of “Once and Again” on DVD. It’s been WAY overdue.
