'House' scoop: Is 'gay sex scene' behind Thirteen backlash?

Ms. Wilde is deluded. I can’t speak for anyone else, but the reason I dislike 13 is because she is boring to watch and takes time away from better actors and more compelling characters. I don’t care that 13 is bisexual; I just wish she were an interesting, watchable bisexual.

I agree with shelly. It’s the weird direction the writers took House since the end of season 3 that really started the decline moreso than Thirteen.
As for Thirteen, although I don’t find her an insufferable character like most House fans, she does get a little too much screen time compared to most of the other characters, new or old. After Wilson came back, he’s hardly been in the show, and I can’t remember much of Taub and Kutner besides when they masqueraded as House for that medical website.
As for whether OW was being sarcastic on the homophobia comment, who knows? I can’t say it’s completely unwarranted, knowing a portion of Grey’s Anatomy fans overreacted with the whole lesbian storyline between Erica and Callie (if the names are wrong, don’t crucify me Grey’s fans…I don’t watch the show). However, House has been so un-PC for years, it’s kind of underestimating House’s target audience. So no, a little gal-on-gal loving won’t scare us off. If anything, keep it coming.

Oliva Wilde is a moron. I really, really think she is. I have to be honest. If someone else had said what she said, I would think they were morons as well.

nope, it’s not because we don’t like same-sex sex scenes (say THAT 10 times fast). it’s because 13 is boring and even her s.s.s.s’s were boring (and that’s gotta be tough to do).
they brought her in too quick and assumed we’d like her as much as the powers that be seem to. we don’t. we haven’t bought into her as a character and all the 13 drama we keep getting in place of characters we do like (wilson, where are you?!) PISSES US OFF.

I agree with most of the posters here. I don’t dislike 13 because she’s bisexual, I dislike her because just about every episode is about her at the expense of the other characters. The show is entitled HOUSE, not THIRTEEN.

I didn’t watch the video, I don’t watch any House videos that have OW in it because I loathe, no detest 13. She hogs screentime and gets flashbacks. Um, is she the star of the show to get flash backs? House hasn’t had child hood flash backs. She’s gotten more screen time than House in the season opener, ugh. The hostage eppy was all about her, the flashback eppy was all about poor sick her and it looks like the 100th eppy will be all about her, who the hell is she to the fans. She’s new, we don’t care. I hated her last season and I hate her even more this season. They should of kept Amber, but OW is hotter so that’s why they kept her, it’s not because she can act. I’m still liking House, HL makes that show. 13 has got to go please. Who do I have to sleep with to get that done?
But right on Michael asking flat out why she thinks she’s hated. That has to be a crappy question to hear let alone answer. But ya, 3 people like 13, your character sucks. To bad she won’t read all the hate.

For any of you who frequented the official House forum after the ‘Lucky Thirteen’ episode aired, you’ll be aware that her comment isn’t completely without merit. The bigoted and offensive comments that were posted by so-called fans were disgraceful.

That is a complete load of bull! If Olivia Wilde think that’s the only reason why people hate her character then she’s sorely mistaken!
It’s the fact that all of a sudden the show has become centred soley around her boring character who has the worst personality. When the spotlight isn’t on her, she’s bitchy to everyone else. When the focus is on her, it’s just plain dull. She even takes up more screen time than House and he’s the MAIN character!!!
13 is a screen hogging character which has failed to engage the audience at all. The constant pushing of her character, the terrible writing and sudden-perfect complex she carries around is annoying and frustrating. How is it that this character has had more development that the original 6 characters?
Lastly, the reason I hate 13 is because Olivia Wilde CANNOT act! Maybe this character could have been carried off by someone else, but this is way out of her field and it’s always monotonous. She just sucks the life out of every scene!
