Exclusive: 'Parks and Recreation' recruits 'Everwood' alum

Chrispratt_l
NBC’s Amy Poehler-fronted Parks and Recreation just went from Must-See TV to Wild-Horses-Couldn’t-Drag-Me-Away TV.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the hilarious Chris Pratt has been added to the dream ensemble. The Everwood grad (and future Mr. Anna Faris) will play the unemployed musician boyfriend of Rashida Jones’ nurse character.

The well-pedigreed Parks and RecreationThe Office‘s Greg Daniels and Michael Schur are producing — premieres Thursday, April 9.

The only thing that could make this show better is if they hired Cheri Oteri to play Poehler’s wacky assistant. (Hint, hint, Greg Daniels. Nudge, nudge, Michael Schur.)

Isn’t Aziz Ansari supposed to be in it too?

They could also use a different name. I understand not wanting to poke fun at “Public Service” (that’s reserved for Sarah Palin to do), but “Parks and Recreation” is pretty blah. The obvious sitcomy title is “Parks and Wreck” – but “Parks & Rec would probably be better than the long form. Maybe that’s what everybody will call it anyway, if it survives.

Jon: yeah, because “The Office” is one of the most innovative titles ever…

How can this show not be awesome?

    awww Chris Pratt! yay!

Chris Pratt!! Coming back to my TV on a weekly basis! JOY!

    “Parks and Wreck”…?
    *blink blink*
    *crickets*
    *tumbleweed*

Cheri Oteri?!?!?! I know its just an idea you threw out, but for the love of God, make it happen

  • Ray

Wow. He’s gained quite a lot of weight.

  • Catherine

AWESOME news! Love Chris Pratt and I think he will be a good add to Amy’s show!

    Dudes,
Parks and Recreation is a great title for the show! Its gonna have its nicknames, and when people talk about how great it is, they will mmost likely shorten the name to Parks and Rec. The full title should not matter that much and should not make or break the show.
And Cheri Oteri? Come on…there could be such funnier people. How about some Lindsey Bluth up in here!

Oh, YES. I am so glad to see that Chris Pratt will be on a regular TV show again. Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt… count me in!

  • Brody

Hmm. I’m skeptical, but I’ll give it a shot.

Ausiello – you’re traumatizing me with that picture of Chris Pratt. He looks like he is either about to have a heart attack or badly needs a shower. Come on, you couldn’t find a better picture? Give the poor guy a break and destroy that image. It’s worse than something the DMV would take.

  • Carlos Balbás-Espín

Dude, I was just about to say what Chlark Fan already said about that god-awful picture.
It’s like you’re giving him a hypocritical compliment to comply with a corporate order from Time Warner: you HAVE TO say you love that he’ll return to TV but you actually hate him so you go and post that thing.
