Ratings: 'Survivor' beats 'Bones' on Thursday

Tagged:

Two popular shows, Survivor and Bones, went head-to-head for the first time last night, and the seasoned reality show won the battle. CBS’ Survivor managed to maintain most of its season premiere numbers, while Fox’s Bones declined 12 percent from its Feb. 5 time slot debut. Elsewhere, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy managed to stay on its steady incline, while Private Practice, which no longer had its Grey‘s crossover to rely on, was down 20 percent. Hell’s Kitchen also lost 14 percent of its viewers from its last new episode on Feb. 6 — and almost half of its viewers from its Jan. 30 premiere.

Hell’s Kitchen only had 6.6 million viewers? Whats up with that??

  • A

Maybe Bones was down becasue the episode was all over the web thurday monring before it aired.

Agree with A–now that Bones is airing on Wednesdays in Canada you can get it day before airing here–which is what I did. Not that I matter, because I am not Nielson… I do DVR still.

    YAY survivor :D

if they stopped pre-empting Bones it would gain momentum. There have only been like 4 new episodes in 2 months and now it’s rerunning till march 12th…stupid FOX!

Private Practice is on ABC, not NBC. You have typo in your table.

FOX series such as Fringe, Lie To Me, and Bones can’t gain any momentum because they are constantly pre-empted. When you only compete in primetime two hours a night most weekdays and a good alottment of that time is filled with American Idol you can’t blame the sagging ratings of your non-idol series on bad acting or bad scripts. Viewers lose interest when their show is pre-empted every other week for Idol; sometimes vanishing for weeks at a time. People will give up and abandon series when there is so much inconsistency with the programming.
