Updated: Cibrian heads to 'Washington,' Wolf invades 'V'

    Perhaps they could remake V as LIFE ON MARS!

    Let’s get some things straight here. First, the Wolf role – “Chad Decker, Anderson Cooper wannabe” is obviously the “new” Mike Donovan character (played by Marc Singer) from the 2 mini-series and TV show. Mike Donovan was Arthur Kent before there was a SCUD stud and Anderson Cooper before he knew what a microphone was. Additionally, if you talk to the V creators, or bother to go back and do a little research, you will find out the original mini-series was based on the various Resistance movements, especially the French, of WWII. It was a modern interpretation of what happened in occupied Europe during the War. The second mini-series and the TV show was less about honoring the Resistance and more about ratings and money given how surprisingly well the first mini-series did. Also, one of the reasons the TV show didn’t survive is that it cost over $1 million (in 80s $) an episode due to the special effects – a first for TV. Come on, EW know your show before you write articles on it.

    Lisa: I am so sick and tired of all of these remakes! Doesn’t anyone have any NEW ideas for shows?!!!!!!!

    Sorry, but the last original ideas were written about 3000 years ago. Everything since is variation and remake. IOW, to semi-quote Roger Ebert, It’s not what the ilm/tv series/book/etc. is about, it’s about how the work is about it.

    Or, in Other other words, it’s not about whether it’s original or not, it’s about whether or not it’s *good.*
