'American Idol': Randy Jackson denies report that he dined with Adam Lambert

Jacksonlambert_l
A report on the Web site GossipSauce claiming that American Idol judge Randy Jackson dined with season 8 finalist Adam Lambert at Katsuya restaurant in Hollywood last Tuesday — the night before Lambert’s Feb. 25 semifinal performance of “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” propelled him to a top 12 slot — is “absolutely untrue,” according to Jackson’s publicist. “Randy did not have dinner with Adam Lambert. He ran into him as he was leaving the restaurant,” Jackson’s publicist tells EW exclusively.

After Lambert performed his Rolling Stones cover, Jackson hailed him as “one of the most current artist we’ve ever had on this show. It’s like a combination of Steven Tyler meets Fall Out Boy meets Robert Pattinson from Twilight meets My Chemical Romance.”

Spokespersons from Fox and Katsuya have not returned calls for comment on this story, but we’ll update this Hollywood Insider post if they do.

Wowsers. I had no idea that this story developed. Hmmm… Hopefully he is not a “ringer” planted contestant, like Joanna Pacitti or (shut your ears, Slezak!) Carly Smithson!

  • Teehee

    FUNNY!

  • Harry’sFeet

There are no photos to prove they went out together, so it’s not true. And I believe Randy’s publicist.

Why are people hating so much on this talented, nice kid? Apparently he has had a really rough couple of days.

  • Meghan

This is Paula/Corey Clark all over again.
    I’m kidding.

  • Dan

    Maybe they’re dating.

  • Alan

Adam Lambert is really creepy, but the judges adore him. They must think he’s the most marketable. If you’re in the mood for high-pitched male screeching, I guess.

I feel really bad for Adam. Apparently, if you are perceived as being “pimped” by the Idol machine, you are fair game to be taken down anyway, anyhow. (EW is as guilty of this as all the other media btw). These contestants are just trying to catch a break, and if their talent catches the interest of the producers, well that really isn’t their fault, is it? I was not a big fan of Adam’s Satisfaction performance on Idol but then I saw some youtube clips. He is incredible! His version of OneRepublic’s Come Home is heart wrenching and I’ve had it stuck in my head all day. As far as his being gay, WHO CARES!?! Lots of great performers are gay. I think Adam is a true superstar and I hope he can put up with all this nonsense to show America what talent really is.

    WHOOOO CAAAARES!!!!

To Harry’sFeet, who said, “There are no photos to prove they went out together, so it’s not true.”
There are no photos means that so far it hasn’t been proven true. There may be photos or there may not be photos. The lack of a photograph does not mean it never happened. But it sure doesn’t help prove that it did.

I don’t beleive it. Randy isn’t that stupid!

  • XSE Drake

So not true. People will believe anything.
It is however true that Adam’s hair has been dating Paula’s chemical imbalance. The two hope to give birth to Liza Minelli.

Who cares the boy isn’t going to sell more than 5 albums

  • Louise

Did you guys see the pictures of Adan making out with guys on Vote for the Worst’s website? Hmm…

  • To Louise

You’re about a day late and a dollar short- the new news item is nobody gives a crap about two people kissing each other.
