I can’t watch shows with people who have ever done anything racist cus I’m just that good a person. I make sure to do extensive background checks on people to make sure they’ve never done or said anything racist in their lives.
If Michael Richards had gone on his rant 5 years before being on Seinfeld it would be a one-liner in his Wikipedia page and almost no one would have cared.

If there is anything or anyone that can fix the michael richards debacle it is Curb and LD. It could backfire though.

I’m curious how many of you are from the ethnic group he insulted? How many of you have ever seen of photo of a lynching? They use to call it strange fruit. It’s easy to forgive when it’s not a part of your history, it’s easy to laugh if you’ve never seen the image. It would be nice to pretend many things didn’t happen and don’t happen. Maybe they can change then anme of the show when he is on to Curb Your Racist Coworker.

Ken, get off your high horse and remember that truly good people understand the act of forgiveness. People make mistakes. It is unfortunate that Michael Richards had to say something racist and I do not condone that behavior. However, I think he is still a human and deserves a second chance. Besides, as a comedian he will provide great comedy on a great show.

I was excited when I heard this. And until I read the comments people posted about Michael Richards and those outbursts, I had forgotten about it.

Here’s a crazy thought…what Richards did wasn’t racially motivated at all. He was at a club doing a show, and some folks were harassing him. So, as an unprofessional stand up, he got angry and tried to offend the offenders. He thought of the worst possible thing to yell at them in retaliation. It wasn’t like he saw a group of black people and said “Hey look at those n’s over there”.

Michael Richards was just responding to a heckler calling him a name. Why didn’t the heckler apologize? More power to Michael I say.

  • Stefan

Great news! Well, great as long as you don’t identify with the racist pan-African nationalist movement and don’t believe that an angry reference to lynching somehow involves you. I guess if a threat was made against your Afro-nationalist 2nd cousin’s great aunt by a white-nationalist kkk member, well, maybe it would offend. In that case, bad news! BAD! Shame on you Michael Richards! SHAME!

  • Peoples

Perhaps you’re right and you are entitled to your view and I respect it. But I am not on a high horse I am an African-American and lynching other enthnic groups was not as common as it was for my group. Forgiveness comes much easier for those it doesn’t effect. The show was funny but when I see Mr. Richards, I see and hear his tirade. You’re right lets forgive him for a good laugh.

From what I understand, the plot line will revolve around Michael Richard’s controversy… we’ll soon see.
