'Big Bang' exclusive: Penny falls for Ugly Betty's ex!

Kaleycuoco_lIt’s a twist only a nerd could love: The Big Bang Theory‘s "cheesecake-scented goddess" is feasting on Ugly Betty’s geeky leftovers!

Kevin Sussman, best known as the poor lad that Ugly Betty dumped in season 2, has been cast as a love interest for Kaley Cuoco’s Penny on Big Bang.

As exec producer Bill Prady first teased in last week’s Ask Ausiello, Sussman will play a comic book-obsessed friend of the guys who starts dating Penny — much to torchbearer Leonard’s horror.

As of now, Sussman is booked for just one episode, which is tentatively scheduled to air on April 13.

Speaking of BBT, here’s a sneak preview of tonight’s highly-anticipated Summer Glau-infused episode. Prepare to laugh your tuchis off.

I love this guy. I remember him from Made of Honor! I really like how they’ve fleshed out the Penny character– she’s become one of my favorites on the show. Should be a really fun episode!!!!!!

Sheldon’s little ‘Wee’ at the end of the video was hilarious!

  • Jeff

Actually, he got dumped in the 1st Season of Ugly Betty. The funny thing about it that I remember is that they upgraded him to series regular in the opening credits but he never appeared again.

  • Sanna

Ooh, I really hope she dates him because he reminds her of Leonard :-)

Thanks for the great scoop. I love The Big Bang Theory and love Kaley Cuoco.

    I love this show. It’s hilarious. :)

They need to get Penny/Sheldon together. It’s such a waste of chemistry if they don’t. I don’t care if it’s at the end of the series but jeez. And for all you who say “it would ruin Sheldon’s character to like a girl”
They did it on HIMYM and Barney is still awesome, so there.

I really didn’t like this episode. if sheldon is a true geek, he would have modified his TiVo and voided the warranty (which geek need warranty support anyways?) Also, which academic doesn’t have all of their research material accessible via network or backup device? sure, behind a custom ipsec stack, but def accessible. I will push further and say that Sheldon, in the last few episodes, have shown no logical reasoning capability what so ever. This show has gone downhill, fast.

  • Laura

Hope this shows Penny that she really belongs with Leonard! :)

I also love the Penny/Sheldon stuff, but this is a great show no way to describe it. I love this show.

  • Todd

Ugly Betty dumped him in season one not season two Aus.

I thought last night’s episode was hilarious. Love when Sheldon/Penny share screen time, but I want her to end up with Leonard!! Johnny Galecki is adorable.

Penny and Leonard getting together would the jumping the shark. it shouldn’t be done.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! It is so different and refreshing. And you don’t have to know exactly what the “geeks” are talking about to make it funny. Only people that would not think it is funny would be those in the science world that Leonard & Co. are in. I do want Leonard and Penny together, I just hope it is not on the series finale. I really hate when they wait until the show is over to “jump the shark”
