Emma Samms to return to 'General Hospital'

Generalhospitalsamms_l EW has learned that fan favorite Emma Samms (and her alter ego, Holly Sutton Scorpio) will return to General Hospital just in time for May sweeps. Samms, who started on the show in 1982 and was last seen there in the summer of 2006, starts taping at the end of April, with scenes set to air in mid-May, says a show insider. Little is known about her upcoming story arc but Holly will be reconnecting with a lot of the older characters, such as old flame Luke (Anthony Geary), as well as younger characters, including Lulu (Julie Berman) and newcomer Ethan (Nathan Parsons). So far, her other paramour, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), is not set to return as well, but “there’s always a possibility that other vets will be returning,” says the source. Samms, who also played Fallon Carrington Colby on Dynasty, is not on contract and her stint is open ended.

How much do you want to bet that Ethan will be Robert and Holly’s secret child?

  • Hannah

    Or Luke’s, too.

  • ClassicGHFan

This is terrific news! Hopefully the writers will get our old Holly back!

  • Kathryn

Hannah I am RIGHT there with ya! I’m just glad that after mentioning her name TPTB are actually following through and bringing the character back

  • Rene

This is terrific news! I’m so excited to see Emma (and Holly) again!

This would be great news…if Sri Rao were writing GH. That moron Guza is probably going to rewrite history worse than before and attempt to have Ethan be Luke and Holly’s. I’d love it, if it was Robert and Holly’s and they gave Robin a half-brother…but I don’t trust the idiots in charge over there at all. Bob Guza has decimated this show (and worse, its history!) over the last ten years and until he’s fired there is no point in getting anyone’s hopes up over the return of any fan favorite. He has ruined the comebacks of Laura, Robert, Holly, nuEmily, Sarah Brown and I’m sure that’s not all. Just, really, GRRR!

Considering how respectful and imaginative Guza was last time he brought Holly back, I can only assume she is returning to town to poison Robin, kidnap her baby and sell it on the black market, all the while, forcing Lulu into prostitution. And why? Because neither Luke nor Robert returned to her – because as Guza makes it quite clear, all women can be vindictive, lying, cheating, murderous criminals for the love of a man.

This is fantastic news ! I am so excited to see Emma again as my favorite GH heroine, Holly ! I was very disappointed at the character assasination of Holly back in 2006 so I do have fears—but I hope they write her in character this time and do a much better job. Plus I am so hoping that Ethan could turn out to be the long lost son of Robert and Holly Scorpio. They are my all time favorite couple and there is so much story potential in a development like this !

If they don’t bring back Robert, I will be *#&%%^! off.

  • ShutUpRob

Is she going to come back via spaceship?

  • nessie

I’m guessing she is Ethan’s mom and that Luke is the dad…

  • Emma Fan

I’m guessing Holly is Ethan’s mother and Robert is the father.

  • Gloria

I just read General Hospital Happenings and the hint they gave us is “Here is a hint, Ethan is not Robert’s son…so that leaves only…” I thought that Lulu and Ethan were going to pair up.

  • Emma Fan

General Hospital Happenings isn’t exactly the most reliable source. I think they’re just talking rumors. No one knows anything for sure.

  • goodandplenty

Actually, General Hospital Happenings is one of the most reliable sources on the net, however, what they have said is that the writers have not made up their mind who Ethan’s father is.
