'Lie to Me' scoop: Ex marks spot for Jennifer Beals

Tags:

Jenniferbeals_lIt appears Jennifer Beals’ lesbian phase has come to an end.

The L Word star has booked a multi-episode arc on Fox’s rookie hit Lie to Me as the ex-wife of Tim Roth’s fib detector and the mother of their daughter, Emily (Hayley McFarland), sources confirm to me exclusively.

Her character, an assistant U.S. attorney by the name of Zoe Landau, hires her former hubby to assist with an arson case, and it quickly becomes apparent that the onetime spouses still have unresolved feelings to work through.

Beals’ first episode airs April 29.

Outstanding news! A bit sad about the end of her lesbionic ways, though. That was quite awesome.

Excellent! I was hoping she’d get cast on House or this show. Both very smart shows for a smart actress. She’d be a great addition – they should think about making it permanent.

Rock on! Lie to Me is one of my favorite freshman shows (along with The Mentalist and Dollhouse), and Jennifer Beals is a great actress. I’m sure she’ll be a wonderful addition to the show.

  • Lorie

    Sweet!

  • Jennifer Espisito

Nice, I’ve loved Beals since I first saw her on the cover of a friend’s laser disk of Flash Dance. Things have changed a lot since then, but not Beals.

Great to see Jennifer Beals on “Lie to Me.” She’s really talented and deserves a great gig.
I second Allison’s comment about the end of her lesbionic ways. She was awesome on the L-word.

  • Allyssa

HORAY!!!!! She is so underrated as an actress. I love her!!!

I think it’s going to be interesting seeing the height difference. I’ve met Tim Roth he is about 5’5″ no matter what his IMDB page says :o ) And Jennifer is over 5’8″ without heals. So this should be interesting!! Either way they are great actors and it should be great.

I’m happy and I’m sad. If any of you have seen her in The L Word on Showtime she was nothing short of fantastic ! The L Word brought out the best in Jennifer’s acting abilities and NOT just because she was playing a lesbian role but because her character, Bette Porter, and what she stood for and believed in was acted with so much intensity and conviction, such excellence! She is amazing! I think more people of the general population who never watched The L Word should be given the opportunity to see her talent ! Hopefully she’ll have some half way decent roles to play in order for that talent to show.

Fantstic…the more Jennifer Beals on the screen the better!!! she is an extraordinary actress that has paid her dues long since Flashdance. Her work on The L Word was great and she created a truly iconic character in “Bette Porter”..

Cool. I’ve really been enjoying Lie To Me and I look forward to seeing how this plays out.

this woman is a stunning actress. She brought the L word to life for me. One of the most gorgeous woman my gay man eyes have ever laid upon.

  • Aqua blue

Wow! So happy to see her in another series. She’s an amazing woman with big brains.

  • Reena

She is such a great actress. She knows when to hold back and how to create tension. I’m also liking Lie To Me so this should be good.

  • Becky

Great! There was one episode so far that featured the daughter and the father/daugther chemistry was fantastic. I am a huge fan of this show and look forward to seeing this new interaction!
