President Obama’s continuing comedy tour may have contained an ill-advised "joke," but it still boosted ratings for CBS’ 60 Minutes on Sunday to 16.2 million viewers, according to early Nielsen estimates. (NCAA basketball bled nearly an hour into prime time in some areas, so CBS’ numbers are more approximate than usual.) 60 Minutes’ lead-out, The Amazing Race (11.6 million), benefited from the Commander-in-Chief’s largesse, as well. NBC’s Kings, on the other hand, sunk a staggering 23 percent in its second airing to 4.6 million; yet its lead-out, Celebrity Apprentice (7.3 million) gained 9 percent over last week. Edie’s much-hyped demise on ABC’s Desperate Housewives (14.7 million) goosed ratings by only a few hundred thousand — though it was the series’ most-watched episode in three months — while Brothers and Sisters (10.4 million) remained flat.

I really hope kings is not cancelled. i really like this show.
I thought Kroft was rude to President Obama and I would be very surprised if the President grants another interview with him. The ‘punch drunk” question was sophomoric.
Contrary to the Huffington report on news magazine shows, Dan Rather Reports on HDnet is more in depth,
more professional and more educational. Pelley and Kroft are amature by comparison.
I hope Kings continues to do badly. A cancellation for Kings means better chances for a third season of Chuck.
I enjoy kings. Great cast…a different look and an easy to understand story line. Shame it’s on NBC…or for any show trying to succeed on that network End-BC
I am really enjoying Kings. It’s a fresh concept and story. Hopefully it makes it. TV needs more adult television with a story that’s well written and little quirky. And yes I get the story’s concept.
I was really glad to see that Kroft didn’t pull any punches on 60 Min. I believe the press is too easy on Obama like they are giving him a pass for some reason. Maybe they dont think he can handle the tough questions and commentary. Kroft did a good job. Obama could have been better.
Well that’s settled: I guess I won’t be allowing myself to become attached to Kings. As much as I hope NBC would take a chance and continue with the show despite its poor ratings, NBC probably cannot afford to do so. Hour-long dramas are usually expensive to produce, and with ratings like this, NBC may not have much of a choice but to cancel it. Sigh…
The Simpsons new ep got just 6mill viewers? That aint good. TS is an expensive show per ep afterall.
Kings is such a solid show. I hope it gets some traction. I loved the first two eps and can’t wait for more.
