It's official: 'Lipstick Jungle' is dead

Lipstickjungle_lAn NBC spokesperson declined to comment, but a Peacock insider is confirming what I first told you back in November: Lipstick Jungle has been canceled.

The show’s leading lady, Brooke Shields, told E! that cast and crew received the bad news late last week. “I think a lot of people were really sad, but I think we hung on a really long time,” she said. “It was three great years that we’ve been working on it.”

BOO!!! I loved Lipstick Jungle!!! But this is not a shock by any means. I had very little hope that it would be back in the fall… especially when Lindsay P got a new show.

  • Matthew

I thought it was an okay show. Maybe the actress that plays Audrey in 24 will come back now to the show.

I thought it was getting better and enjoyed watching it but I’m not surprised it is gone. At least it ended with some closure on some stories.

So I think the real question is, what is NBC NOT going to cancel this year. I think they’ve only confirmed that of their scripted series in primetime, only The Office, 30 Rock, and Heroes are sticking around at this point. Hopefully Chuck gets a renewal!

  • Christi

Well, NBC has unofficially officially renewed Friday Night Lights for a 2 season pick up with Directv. So that’s another one to add to the list.

Considering Lindsay Price moved on to another pilot a few months ago its not surprising. So many shows come and go. I liked October Road and Six Degrees but no one else was watching those either.

lol, lipstick jungle. This was a question? People actually watched that show. I love these comment sections to gauge the downfall of our society.

I also heard another NBC show is on the line “Life”. WHY do they have to cancel shows that are intelligent and interesting?
BTW – Kim Raver is NOT coming back to “24″. Her character became a blubbering idiot and was committed to a mental hospital. We don’t need her on “24″ anyway; she’s long forgotten. Besides Jack and Rene are supposed to get together after this day is over.

  • LJ

Well, not a surprise. It was an all right show, but didn’t get the numbers.
Now, NBC needs to find a way to keep FNL and Kings alive and well.

  • Sharlin

I don’t understand why Heroes will continue. I stopped watching about 3 weeks ago.

    Sending the memory.
    That candle,
    when the greatest
    level tries to
    forget a loving
    intention, appears
    in my mind
    like a distant
    idea, and also
    this care invents
    an emotion.

Would you please relay this to the brilliant mastermind who decided to take this wonderful series off the air that there are people that enjoy watching shows like Lipstick Jungle. I know there are not enough of us but surely must we always look at the bottom line ($$$$) to determine what we will air. I beginning to think that we are turning into a society that only enjoys reality TV and believe me with today’s economy I really don’t want to see REALITY.

Lipstick Jungle was awesome. Loved it!!

  • Robin

I’m greatly disappointed that this show is cancelled. I looked forward to watching Lipstick Jungle every week. It was one of four shows I like – the rest is trash for tweens.

  • DonnaLee

I am really saddened to hear this show has ended.I was hoping, if it was going to be cancelled to have at least one more season to see the long awaited wedding. Instead you left a great show in my opinion unfinished.I am tired of the reality & talk shows. I used to look forward to relaxing in the evening and watching Lipstick Jungle. It’s a shame and I think you guys made a mistake.
