Ethan is the Brandon, Liam is the Dylan. You need the cute good guy to counter-act and balance the brooding bad boy, and it makes for brilliantly easy love triangle drama. I think getting rid of Dustin is a mistake, as is getting rid of the alums (Jennie, Shannen, and Tori). I think they should find better ways to integrate them into the cast, both young and old.
wow i like the show but i am honestly shock! but she should also get rid of Navid and replace Ethan and Navid with
George and Ty
Ethan does not have a back story he has no real story line and even through Annie can b annoying she has the potential of being a bad girl Navid story line is Adrianna so i really think he needs to go. i will give season to a shot.
This is pretty surprising, but I think it’s good they are giving him the boot. I’ve never been a fan of him and his character thus far has been pretty one-dimensional. I’d love to see more screen time of Liam and I’d love to see less screen time of the old Bev Hills cast. Don’t get me wrong, Jennie, Tori and Shannen are great, but they just don’t mix with the rest of 90210′s plot and what they’re trying to accomplish as a show.
I think that they should keep Ethan and it is a bit premature to be making a change to the principle cast. I enjoy the storyline with Annie and I think it has room to grow.
The one and only reason I watch this show is for the original cast. I would stop watching also if Kelly, Brenda and Donna are phased out.
This is such great news. The Annie-Ethan romance has been one of the biggest problems with 90210 from day one. Now if they could just get some better writers..
Don’t like this at all especially the part about the present cast. I like the eps that feature Kelly, Brenda and i’m excited to see Donna back in the 90210.
The only thing keeping me on right now is Jessica L. If you kick her off, i’m gone.
Well I hope they’re ready to have their ratings drop. Most people I know only watch the show for the original characters. The new characters are awful.
Its pretty horrible for a show when a main character runs their course by the end of the 1st season. That speaks VOLUMES on the creative blackhole that is 90210.
A very good move. Now lose Annie, Navid, and the boring parents and they’ll really be popping…
From what I’ve read, RRKS loves Kelly, but Brenda and Donna won’t be returning every other episode nest season like they have in this one.
Damn. His charecter was dull but the boy has the goods. Maybe the CW will use him in Smallville?
Can we also get rid of Shenae Grimes? She is the worst/most annoying part of the show.
So this new show runner claims she doesn’t want to go in the past but it seems to me like she’s trying to rewrite old 90210 storylines. Let me guess..Liam will end up with Annie. So we will have a Brenda/Dylan redux. Kelly did crush on Dylan like the annoying “bad girl” now crushes on him. They are turning Silver into Brandon’s crazy girlfriend Emily Valentine. They could at least kept Ethan on so we can see more of his grandma with Annie’s grandma. ALso Ethan could have been the new Steve Sanders.
