Exclusive: Duchovny falls for Farr-out babe

Dianefarr_lWhat happens when a sex addict falls for a boy-crazy student? We’ll find out later this year when Rescue Me and Numb3rs alum Diane Farr joins the third season of Showtime’s Californication as a horny grad student who falls for David Duchovny’s carnally-obsessed Hank.

The 10-episode gig is Farr’s first since giving birth to twin girls, Sawyer Lucia Chung and Coco Trinity Chung, last August. She also has a 2-year-old son, Beckett, with husband Seung Yong Chung.

“Staying home with three little kids for six months has made me wonder if I might drown in a sea of velour sweat pants,” the actress says with a laugh. “Californication is like a grooming life-preserver for me. I can’t wait to go to work.”

Farr’s especially looking forward to not having to channel yet another tough chick in uniform. “I am so excited to play someone who is girlie,” she enthuses, “and wears a sundress without a gun or a fire hose in my hand.”

She’ll always be Diane Farr of Loveline to me…how perfect for Californication! :)

  • Rich

“Sawyer Lucia Chung and Coco Trinity Chung”?
    Please stop the madness!

  • Modwild

Calling her a “boy-crazy student” makes it sound like another Mia. Man-crazy, perhaps, since she’s almost 40.
Eh – not crazy about this addition. Well see.

    • MIke

They are not calling Diane’s character a boy crazy student you moron. Hank (David) falls for one of his students. Someone should teach you how to read.

  • Jamie

Not thrilled about this. Barley liked her in Rescue Me and could not stand her in Numb3rs.

  • Sammi

I love Diane Farr and I really wish she would come back to Numb3rs, I miss Meghan so much! I really liked her on Rescue Me too.

  • Garry

Diane Farr–her absence is still felt on “Numb3rs”. She’s SO gorgeous and sexy–just what Duchovny needs to land him back in sex addicts’ rehab.

    Great news. I love CALI.
I am looking forward to seeing David playing Hank Moody again.
Hey, what does it mean? “The 10-episode gig” ONLY 10 episodes? :(

  • Rob

Maybe HER gig is only 10 episodes, while the season runs the regular 12?

The show has now officially jumped the shark. Farr ruined Rescue Me and then did the same for Numbers. What’s next? A gig on CSI? The only way I can watch her on TV is with the sound button on mute. Nasally, whiny voice will drive you to tears or to drink. Or both.

Hmm, it might be ok, but who knows?
    Wait and see I suppose.

Love Californication. Specially Madeline Zima: http://www.actressscene.com/search/label/Madeline%20Zima

Can’t watch Californication cause I don’t get the channel, but I think it’s pretty ironic that David Duchovney, who has a serious problem in the sex department, should end up in a show where sex is the main theme! How the heck can he get over his issues while constantly exposed to them?

    I love Diane Farr.. +1 http://shadow.1gb.bg/ztl.html jeannie
