'House' spoiler alert: 'Chameron' twist revealed!

Tagged:

Houseengagement_lWarning: Stop reading if you haven’t seen last night’s House. Everyone else, onward and downward…

As I’ve been teasing for much of the past week, Chase and Cameron broke up on tonight’s House. But as I’ve also been teasing for much of the past week, there was a humdinger of a twist that followed the duo’s split: They quickly got back together and engaged!

Holy bait and switch, Batman!

I know what you’re thinking: Does this mean Jesse Spencer will make good on the promise he made earlier this year to up and quit should the day come when Cam and Chase march down the aisle? What?! You don’t recall him making such a threat? Allow me to copy and paste his exact quote again:

“If there is [a very special Chase-Cam wedding episode], I’m out. I’ll walk. I’m
freaking done. I think they are wary about getting into too much
relationship stuff. It’s a procedural show at its core. That’s why
people like it. That’s why I like to watch it.”

Hmm… was Spencer just being his usual silly self or does he know something about where the Cam-Chase story is headed that we don’t? Interestingly, Spencer also went on to predict that due to “[exec producer] David Shore’s general disdain for life, you can rest
assured that what we won’t be doing next season is getting happy. You
won’t see Chase and Cameron making a home and having babies and other
greeting card stuff.”

Added Jennifer Morrison: “We’ve been happy for way too long for this
show. Something is probably coming. I can’t imagine that some
happy-go-lucky fairy tale is in store for Chameron. I think [David Shore] will
probably find some very unique bizarre way to make us miserable.”

Whatever happens next (bachelor party!), I would advise Chameron fans to enjoy their favorite couple’s pre-honeymoon honeymoon period while it lasts. I would also advise them to answer the following Qs in the comments section: Was the episode everything
you hoped it would be and more? Do you think their engagement will lead
to an actual wedding? Was Cameron being honest about her feelings (or lack thereof) for House? Do you hope Amber’s ghost sticks around at least as long as Denny’s did? Sound off below!

It was NICE to see them both having a chance to act again, not just read a line for one scene and disappear again. I’m a House+Cameron fan, but I still got teary when she was waiting (“hoping”) and then he went down on one knee. The chemistry and emotion seemed real. House has been really on it’s game lately, and the next episode looks great.

Great to see Chameron back in fine form… but WHAT ABOUT AMBER? holy crap!

  • meme

The proposal was unexpected but also very awkward. Cameron is still lying about her feelings for House and for Chase, she is lying to herself and it’s not going to be pretty.
    Tell me WHEN IT ENDS!?

Such an awesome episode tonight. I don’t know if they will get married, but from every time I’ve ever seen JS talk? The guy is majorly sarcastic. I’m not taking one word from his mouth without a visual, and not just because the visual is always fine. Great episode tonight, they were both great.

I really want Cameron and House to get together. I know it will probably never happen but I still have hope in my heart!! (Lol…)

  • Bruce

Hell yes! I want Amber to stick around at least as long as Denny did. As long as House doesn’t try to have sex with her, that is.

Exceptional…makes one wonder why anyone would bother with so-called reality TV… David. Katie, and co. continue to do their magic…can’t wait until next week and the week after and the week after……

Anyone want to bet that the whole Huddy doing the deed thing happens as a result of Chase’s bachelor party???

  • David

Jesse Spencer was being his sarcastic self. That’s the guy who once promised Chase and Cuddy would lip lock.
I feel bad for those House/Cameron shippers, though. That is one ship that is most likely never going to come into fruition.

Am I the only one who thinks these two look enough alike to be brother and sister? Guess so.

Yeah, I thought the episode was great. Especially the end where house is just enjoying life again, playing a really catchy tune on the piano, and then throwing in some harmonica, only to see Amber say “I thought you were insane” or something to that effect. The Cameron/Chase thing was great to see. Throughout the whole episode I had what Jesse Spencer had said about quitting if they ever get married in my head. The only two things I can think right now is either from Kutner’s death up, it’s all a hallucination, or in real life Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison finally came to terms with their broken engagement and are past the bad blood. Then again, maybe he was being sarcastic, but I don’t know. I could see why that would piss him off, since she was the one in real life he wanted to marry, but she called it off, then in the show they actually get married. Talk about ripping open old wounds.

  • House Needs A Condom for Eye Sex with Cameron

I don’t think this will lead to an actual wedding and that is a shame because they are very cute together….but when they do split I don’t think it will have anything to do with House.
    Hameron R.I.P. :)

I have been a Hameron fan for years, but now I’ve come around to Chameron. Cameron is my favorite character, and as long as she’s happy, I’ll be happy. However, it certainly sounds like she won’t be. That bachelor party sounds infamous to me. A stripper? Is Chase going to cheat on Cameron, make her break up with him, and therefore make them both miserable? If JM is right, then David Shore would definitely be doing his job. Personally, I don’t think one happy relationship would ruin a show with so much turmoil. If Huddy is going to happen, let the drama lie there. Chameron is, I suppose, a good way to balance all of the sadness out in the end. Here’s to hoping Chase is loyal and their relationship, as always, defies everybody’s expectations (especially JM and JS’s).

      OMG
I totally agree with you! *.*
Chameron should be the “happy” couple! Like you said, it would be a good way to balance things, and c’mon! they both were alrealdy miserable! i mean, cameron lost her husband and was dumped by house(lol), and chase lost his parents!
Althougt they are always fighting. I hope them to be happy :)

About House tonight, I hope the House/Amber story doesn’t end up like Izzie/Denny on Grey’s. House Writers…you’re better than that (I hope)

I think Jesse Spencer likes to play with interviewers, though I also think DS will have some twists to offer in the future. But it was a lovely way to end the episode given last week’s very sad ep. I trust that Cameron actually told Chase how she felt and is over the crush on House.
The Amber scene was awesome. I don’t think she should stick around longer than House’s coming breakdown, but she’s a treat to see again. No sex, please, though–she’s dead.
