American Idol’s double-elimination results show maintained its usual 23 million viewers to easily win Wednesday night for Fox. The network’s night started off well with Lie to Me during the 8 p.m. hour, although that show was down from last Wednesday‘s new episode of Bones, which aired in the same time slot and performed much better in viewership (10.8 million) and in the key demo of adults 18-49. Meanwhile, there was no good news for ABC’s new series. Better Off Ted, which had spiked a bit in viewership last week, lost half a million of those new pairs of eyes this week, and The Unusuals continued to lose its audience with its second new episode of the week. Tuesday night‘s installment attracted only 5.3 million viewers, and Wednesday’s audience was down 26 percent from the cop show’s April 8 premiere.

This just confirms my belief that for the most part, American TV viewers are morons.
Aren’t those really high #s for ANTM?! YAY!!!
I love of the CW just takes last place because none of their shows have a shot….at least they dominate the 18-34 category
The Unusuals is an excellent show. I hope ABC will give it a chance.
I’m not sure how many other people I speak for, but I won’t be watching any new shows on ABC. Their mistreatment of so many great shows: Pushing Daisies, The Nine, Invasion, Life on Mars, Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money… I’m sure there are many more from earlier seasons. I’m sorry for those of you who watch The Unusuals and might have it canceled on you too, but I’ve learned my lesson. Don’t watch a new show on ABC.
I hope the show continues to go down the tube. Maybe it will teach ABC lesson and keep the good shows on and yes “Life on Mars”, was by far a much better show. And it had better ratings in the start and by the end had a 400K gain on viewers. Bring back “Life on Mars”

I love Better Off Ted and The Unusuals! I told myself I wouldn’t watch any new shows on ABC because of how badly they have mistreated some of their best shows recently, but Better Off Ted comes on right before LOST and The Unusuals is on right after. And I don’t have anything else to watch during those times. And now I’ve become hooked on these shows! ABC was stupid for giving The Unusuals the same time-slot as Life on Mars. What were they thinking? Let me take a guess as to how ABC came to this conclusion: “Hmm, we had a quirky cop show in this time-slot, but no one watched it so we had to cancel it. What should we do now? I know! Let’s replace it with another quirky cop show! It’s destined to be a ratings success!”
