Well, BigCheese1, you should then offer to manage or produce Adam. Your tin ear and his off-pitch singing would go together perfectly! Or hire someone with perfect pitch to tell you how your clients are actually doing. Adam does not have the ability to carry two notes together that are on key.

  • Anne

I am not an “Adam Fan” but to be honest… he has never sang a wrong note. Whoever said he did has a tin ear. I am a musician and choir director and I know when a bad note is sung. He is dead on, even if I don’t care for his style.
Has anyone noticed how much he looks like Elvis? I liked him best the night he combed his hair back and did a croon.

  • Sandi

Adam off key? That has to be a joke. You may or may not like his style, but accusing him of singing off pitch or off key is ludicrous. I really think some people speak of this when what they really mean is they don’t like a person’s singing style. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard Adam off key. He has amazing vocal control.

I have to agree with the Critic and I’m glad someone finally said that Adam can’t sing. I’d be a big fan of Adam if he could sing, he would make a great Idol. I have perfect pitch, and I know when someone is off key and by how much. The note at the end of Mad World was WAY off. It was like finger nails scratching across a chalkboard. Most of the rest of the song he was off by a quarter to half pitch, and those notes he did hit, he slid into them. He may be a good performer, but he is not a good singer.

    TheCritic,
If you are to have any credibility (Mr. Perfect Pitch), tell us what key Adam sang Mad World in, and what was the note (i.e. F#) that he sang which you claim was not in that key.
I don’t care much for Adam, but to claim he’s not a flawless pitched vocalist is just silly.

  • FootracerJ

“Perfect Pitch”, anyone and their brother can say, “oh, he was half tone off”. Name the key and the sour note, otherwise, learn the difference between “perfect pitch” and “relative pitch”.

  • Cindy

To “PerfectPitch”…. you’ve got to be kidding me!!! Adam has NEVER been off key or hit a bad note. And…. brag much… who told you you have perfect pitch? Why not post yourself on Youtube and let us be the judge… I bet you can’t even hold a candle to Adam!!!

  • Emily

TheCritic: Are you deaf? I am not going to lie and say Adam has landed every note the entire season, most famously the final note in Mad World and glory note in Feeling Good, but to say he doesn’t have the ability to string two notes together is an outright lie. Adam is consistently on pitch, which for a male vocalist singing Grand Gs in both chest and head voices is particularly commendable, and it is very interesting to me that this comment comes on the heels of Danny’s deathscreech and overall HIDEOUSLY off-key performance.
Love him or hate him, to say that his pitch is worse than the other contestants who have had just as many if not more nasty notes is stupid.

Adam was AMAZING! Danny killed a cat live on stage or was he trying to sing?

  • thoga

Ok folks STOP saying Adam is like Freddie. I mean I adore Adam, but he is morea Robert Plant than a Mercury. I heard Freddie live twice, once in teh 70′s and once at Knebworth (yeah the last one ever) and … Adam does not have Mr Mercury’s low register.
That being said. Adam is my favourite. I live in Milwaukee now, and it’s all Danny here… though that last “note” from last night might change that… UGH

  • adamfan

Danny’s fans can no longer complain about Adam screaming, haha, not that he is. I agree that Danny tried to copy, but no one can do it like Adam. Whole lotta a love for Adam!

  • Oracle

I am sorry but I guess I am watching another show. Evenly matched? Not the show I saw. I saw a show that had this one kids named Adam that smoked everybody who has ever been on that show including the ones in during season 8. Adam is already outselling almost everybody. But who knows? Melinda didn’t win and she was head and shoulders better than her season.

  • Mississippi K

“Pitchperfect” you are clearly a poser.
Adam is technically one of the best vocalists who has ever walked on the idol stage. He has natural talent, had years of training and is reported to have an amazing work ethic. You don’t just end up being this good a singer.
Danny, on the other had, has no formal vocal training and it shows. He has not developed his vocal control or range.

“As for who Simon thinks should win this year’s competition – the British judge is picking “Idol’s” resident rocker. “If it were up to me based on originality, worldwide appeal, I would say Adam,” he told Ellen. “I like the fact he’s fearless. He’s not playing it safe. A lot of the people that take part in these shows want to sing ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ every week because it’s a soppy song… He’s got guts.”
    Amen.
