Yay! I’m so happy Chuck got renewed, and I’m not worried about the budget issues. I think Friday Night Lights is a perfect example that it’s possible to produce a great season of quality television with budget concessions: only 13 episodes on a reduced budget with not all the cast appearing in each episode. It worked out fine for them, and I think it will be okay for Chuck too.

Oh I am sure Numb3rs will be fine if Medium is packed between it and Ghost Whisperer even though that is the first time I heard that rumor myself. Several shows that have came and left at the 9pm/8pm hour all the years Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs have done considerably well for Friday night programs.

so…13 episodes with extensive cutbacks, and most likely…no 4th season, so really, is that actual good news? *confused*

WE CAN MAKE THIS WORK. Sure, I’ll be sad not to have the whole cast in each ep, but really, we were generally already doing that. As long as no one has to go bye bye for good, I’m ok. And COME ON PEOPLE, we can make season 4 happen!!! Just keep telling EVERYONE you know about Chuck! EVERYONE!

ohh my goodness! i am SOOOOOO happy chuck is back on for season three.
i am a little bummed that’s it’s only back for 13 episodes though. but hey at least it’s back right?

I’m so glad Chuck is back! Yes! I would’ve been heartbroken if it had been cancelled, especially since I JUST got onboard. I had actually never heard of Chuck before I read all this online chatter about saving Chuck; I started watching it and fell in love. Hopefully there are a lot more people like me out there that will boost the ratings and keep it around- it deserves it. I’m bummed about the budget cuts and possible loss of a character, but so glad it’s back.

13 episodes is better than 0 episodes. Glad to hear that it got renewed. Now where the hell does NBC put it?

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS!!!!!!
    this news made my year!!!!!
I hope that julia ling is not leaving the show. She’s an amazing actress and I love the morgan-anna couple^^

I am so happy! Any Chuck is beter than no Chuck. And I have enough confidence in the creative minds of the show to keep it great with whatever budget and cast they are given. Great news !!!!!!!!

Chuck has some momentum – keep it going! Don’t give up on those sandwiches and watch the show live if you can (yeah, right).
PROVE to NBC they made the right decision, and encourage them to go for the back-9 too. The sets are built; the cast is primed. Go for it.
Losing a caster; sad, but understandable. I can see Emmett’s arc reaching an endpoint or the newlyweds honeymoon getting extended (hmm, a hostage situation that would eventually need the talents of Chuck 2.0)? The BuyMore is a sensible place to cut, especially if there are fewer “B” stories set there.
Did anyone else think that Morgan/Anna’s vacation was a perfect opportunity for a spin-off? Except for the budget hit, it also makes for some great perks for the cast & crew.

I wanted one show…ONE…to come back. Chuck! I am just so happy right now.

Ugh, no, don’t cut Anna! Get rid of the sleezy Jeffster.

Thank God! Anything to stop the incessant whining! Ay, the whining!

I think that a 13 episode order will help make the show better by making it more focused. Some of my favorite shows from the UK only have 6-8 episodes per season and usually they are consistently good from the first to the last.
