Letterman is awesome, and Palin deserves it for dragging her kids into the political campaign to start with.
bad language choice of knocked up; bad subject choice going after the child of a celebrity; bad non-apology
Get your facts straight. The comment was directed at Palin’s 14 year old daughter Willow, who attended the baseball game with her. Joking around about someone’s 14 year old daughter as a sexual object is out of bounds.
You may not support Palin politically. You may feel you are righteous in that decision, but is it really worth throwing your integrity away and reporting a story inaccurately just because you feel the need to allow your bias stand in the way of your integrity?
Palin has faults as a politician, and it is in horribly bad taste to make jokes about baseball players banging her 14 year old daughter. Both things can be true.
You are part of the problem. You are so polarized that you cannot look at a story and report facts accurately because your political agenda trumps reason. When Republicans fail to act when another Republican is doing something wrong is that good? You add to that polarization.
Palin eats this stuff up. She must be so happy to have some more drama to keep her in front of the cameras. Anyone who keep shoving her poor kids in front of the media for her own ego gratification and career advancement has something wrong with her as a parent. Pathetic. In her favor, she does have the “slutty stewardess look” going on. That was funny, but I bet that’s what REALLY pissed her off.
Palin is just trying to stay in the public eye longer than she needs to! Letterman apologized! Get over it! She just making herself look stupid everytime she opens her mouth! Letterman and CBS, take the high road and stop this crazy banter!
Palin is the joke. Why can’t she see that if she can see Russia from her house?
She’s an opportunist who’s milking this thing for all it’s worth. Letterman made an inappropriate joke and moved on. She is the one all over the place talking it up. It’s obvious that her skin is not thick enough to handle anything harsh and some people are expecting her to lead a country in the future? LOL
She’s looking for publicity, nothing more, and hoping to drum up her next campaign platform: decency and good ‘ole American values. Yeah she yearns for the days of the 1950′s, the happy homemaker, homogenized suburbia and a whole linen closet full of freshly pressed white sheets.
Hey JJ-
It would be a lot funnier if Letterman’s joke was about your mother
Palin has had little ground to stand on. She has over exaggerated and overplayed this incident. Letterman has only made a variation on a type of joke that was made about Bristol throughout the election. The bittersweet irony is that if Palin continues to overplay this she becomes the one who is actually doing a disservice to women. By confusing Letterman’s inept joke with a real harmful message Palin risks obfuscating a serious topic. In the process she illustrates her own ignorance.
Palin and her family are a bunch of dysfunctional lunatics. Everyone needs to wake up and realize this.
You are all idiots. Obviously none of you are parents or have any idea of what is appropriate and what is inappropriate. I am sure if any of you were parents and some one made a joke like that about your kid you wouldnt like it either. And guess what, shes right, he is promoting the idea that these kind of jokes are alright and all of you are proof that most people out there think that its alright to joke about this type of stuff. It seems like now all you have to do is say your joking or your a comedian and it makes it all okay. Get some morals people!
good joke, dave Keep it up.
don’t be deterred by the nutty far right suggestion you were talking about rape.
Please, no apology. let the faux
apolexy continue till they get tired
It really is sad when I hear that so many people on this site talk about how much we hate this person or another. You have to look at yourself and others who have the sickness of anger and hate. What did the Jews the Blacks and the Military man do that was so bad It was HATE. If someone called a Wife, Daughter or any person a slut that person has the right to defend and protect. The next time you talk to your girlfriend or wife who had a previous relationship don’t act surprised if the EX or the old boyfriend make the slur . Just be fortunate it is not on National Television
I cannot believe Sarah Palin would drag her 14-year-old daughter into the lime-light like this and pin a “statutory rape” joke onto her. For what? To end up in the news again? It is absolutely disgusting and she should have to attend parenting classes as a result of this. Does she have no soul? Her 14-year-old daughter now has to face her peers over this mess.
When Letterman made the joke, it was one of many jokes. It would have been forgotten by the next week once he flooded the airwaves with more silly jokes. Nobody would have been talking about it. I don’t watch Letterman (I prefer Leno’s and Conan’s style of joke-telling) though I have on occasion. He’s an OK guy… sometimes funny… he has a charm about him… but that’s about it. Since I don’t watch him, I had no idea this joke was made. It wasn’t until Palin went on her tirade that I heard about it. Now that she stuck her political nose into things, this joke will spread for decades to come. Shame on her!
