Ratings: CBS dominates weekend, canceled shows fade into obscurity

Tags: , News

CBS ruled a sleepy summer weekend with its arsenal of repeat-friendly hits, from Million Dollar Password (6.4 million viewers) to Cold Case (6.8 million) and Without a Trace (6.7 million). Eli Stone?? Was it a rerun? I thought ABC had aired all the episodes, but if not, I’ll be pissed I never heard about it! If it was truly a rerun, it just goes to show how idiotic these people are….

It was a brand new Eli Stone, way to go ABC.

They’re airing the last four eps of Eli Stone, starting last saturdy, on saturdays. So it was new and there should be 3 more new ones too…

I was pretty excited when I saw a new Eli Stone pop up on my DVR’s “to do” list. Went to watch it yesterday, and it was an infomercial — yes, my local station (which is in a major market) bumped a new Eli Stone for a stupid infomercial — on prime time Saturday night. Needless to say, after the cliffhanger in the last new episode that aired a couple of months ago, I was pissed. It says it’s recording an episode next Saturday — we’ll see. Wonder it you can watch on ABC.com or Hulu?

Yes, ABC is burning off new eps of three cancelled shows. They announced this schedule in April:

If you were/are an Eli Stone fan, you really need to see the ep for a number of reasons plot wise. Also interesting seeing SNL’s Michaela Watson as the judge, she was great in the episode, which I’m sure was shot before she joined SNL.

I can’t believe that a repeat of Without A Trace had 6.7 million viewers and it’s still being cancelled. I’m really going to miss watching new episodes.
