Exclusive: Eve joining 'Glee' club for arc

Tags: , News

Glee-Eve_l And you thought the Glee kids were happy before: R&B supastar Eve has just inked a deal to appear in two episodes of the Fox musical as a no-nonsense girls’ choir director from a rival school, sources confirm to me exclusively.

As I previously reported, Glee producers were considering Whitney Houston for the part. But when she turned it down, Eve stepped up. (Who says no to the most buzzed-about series since… um, since I can remember?)

So what do you think? Do you agree that, especially while she’s walking the comeback trail, Whitney made a mistake by taking a pass? Think Eve will make everyone forget Whit was even in the running? Sound off below! (Additional reporting by Andy Patrick)

DRUGGIE. You know which one of the ladies I’m talking about here. ;-)

This show is going to be awesome! and it doesn’t hurt with all those videos circulating of kids singing Stevie Nicks’ and Journey’s music! Can’t wait!!

I’m shocked that Whitney Houston is passing on this. I mean she did that awful reality show and she won’t do something that looks as promising as Glee. She really is delusional about how big a star she is. Smart move Eve, stupid move Whitney.

Whitney will fail so she should have taken this.

that was one of the most stupid things Whitney has done lately .. GLEE will be huge

I was hoping you were about to announce that Adam Lambert was guest starring on Glee. Several of the cast memebers tweeted the other day that he was in their studio. Any story on that?

This makes me sad because it leads me to believe that Whitney is not functioning well enough to handle the work.

Maybe Whitney feels she’s “above” TV…but it’s not like she hasn’t done it before. Good for Eve.

It would have been great to see Houston back in action, but kudos to Eve nonetheless.

I think Whit made a mistake by not signing up. But, I love Eve and I loved the pilot episode of “Glee”, so I cannot wait to see it.

Please, Ausiello. “Most buzzed about series?” This site was the first to say that the numbers were pretty underwhelming for it following “Idol.” It’s the “most buzzed about” series since, what, “Cop Rock?” And we all know how that turned out.

Ok, lets be real here for a sec. A show being buzzed about, and a show being a hit are 2 completely different things. I watched the premiere, and was entertained, if not blown away. If I remember right, when Glee was on after the finale of American Idol, it still lost like 2/3 of the audience. What will it do on its own. And Whitney Houston is a big star. Yeah, she hasn’t done anything in a while, but love her or hate her, the woman is a legend. I’m not saying she should’ve said no, but its not like its a no brainer like you are all making it appear.

I think that Whitney Houston was probably making the final touches of recording her new album, so she couldn’t commit to a guest appearance on the Glee series. She’s too classy an artist to sign up for that and it don’t think she made a mistake at all by declining. But I like that Eve signed up for it. She’s done a TV series for a few years, so she can be able to do it.

Most Buzzed about series since…Pushing Daises, and we saw how well that went. Lets hope Glee does better.
