Exclusive: 'Lost' star finds hellish 'Supernatural' gig

Mark-Pellegrino_l Mark Pellegrino’s career is on fire. Literally.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the actor — who was unmasked as Lost‘s enigmatic Jacob at the end of last season — is joining the cast of Supernatural as none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Lucifer.

Lucifer was released from hell in Supe‘s season finale last month, although we never caught a glimpse of the little devil’s face. All of that will change when Pellegrino (also known for his role as Rita’s rather satanic ex on Dexter) debuts in the show’s Sept. 10 season premiere.

So, does this mean we’ve seen the last of Jacob on Lost? An ABC rep couldn’t be reached for comment, but here’s a potential clue: Pellegrino isn’t joining Supernatural as a full-time series regular; his status is listed as recurring. You do the math.

Thoughts on this red-hot piece of casting? Sound off below!

Mark Pellegrino is quickly becoming the most awesome TV actor out there. Getting to play THE iconic characters on both Lost and Supernatural is just too cool.

  • ck

This guy plays all the good guy roles ;)

  • Michael Bach

How can Jacob be called a “baddie”?

  • Kari

Yup, he was Rita’s ex. And that’s good casting. I couldn’t picture Lucifer. Now I have a face to my imagination! :)

  • Ryan

And Lucifer may not be a series regular but the casting call that was released said, and I quote: “This is an amazing role that will be heavily recurring.” So he’s gonna be pretty damn busy filming “Supernatural” up in Canada and I don’t see him getting that many opportunities to fly out to Hawaii to film Jacob scenes.

Lost is actually filming some stuff on the studio lot in Glendale this season, so he might be used there instead of in Hawaii.

I really like this casting. He is amazing as Jacob on Lost and I think he has a really good look to play Lucifer. Kind of reminds me of Fredrick Lehne who was absolutely fantastic as the YED! I’m looking forward to this!
