Exclusive: 'Burn Notice' nabs 'Mental' case Chris Vance!

Tags: , News

Chris-Vance_l Chris Vance, who’s currently headlining Fox’s shrink procedural Mental, is Burn Notice-bound.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the ex-Prison Breaker has booked a four-episode arc as Gilroy, a sophisticated and ruthless former MI-6 bigwig who now oversees freelance black ops.

Translation: He’s about to make life hell for one Michael Westen.

Vance will appear during the second half of Burn Notice‘s current third season, tentatively scheduled to air in early ’10. The gig won’t conflict with Vance’s Mental duties since production on the drama’s first (and likely only) season wrapped months ago.

He’s a good actor, but I’m not crazy about Mental.

aww. Mental was really beginning to grow on me although when I saw it moving to Fridays’, kinda had that feeling…

The hotness factor on Burn Notice is through the roof! Such a good show and eye candy aplenty! Too bad Gilroy has to go up against Michael Westen. Nobody beats the Super Spy (just ask Brennan ;-)

Wonder what kind of conflict will arise having someone from MI-6 around IRA postergirl Fi.

    I love Chris Vance…

I adore him also. I would watch him reading the phone book for sure and I am about to turn 80 yrs old.He is a star already-Chris Vance!

I figured that Mental wouldn’t last past the summer. But I’m glad he’s got another gig, his hotness cannot be kept under wraps…I hope that a major network gives him a leading role!

I really like Mental and wish that it was being better promoted. I think moving it to Fridays will be the kiss of death, though.

While I’m psyched that he’s gonna be on Burn Notice,I’m shocked ’24′ didn’t pick him up. Chris Vance as an MI-6 agent working with/against Jack Bauer would’ve been awesome.

goddammit. A a psych patient he and house are probably the only fictional doctors i’d actually feel comfortable with. It was so nice to see on Tuesdays a (fictional) doctor knowing what they were doing because god knows the rest of the hacks don’t.

I’m excited to have Chris Vance on a much better show than Mental! Very good news indeed.

    Thoughts? Hot.

Vance was smart to say yes to a stint on Burn Notice, one of the best scripted dramas on ANY network. As its following grows I can’t help but think that the so-called big three (CBS, ABC, NBC) wish they had ANYTHING as good.
Michael, how about checking to see if Burn Notice, The Closer, Raising The Bar, Leverage, or Saving Grace were ever offered to CBS, ABC, or NBC. If so, considering the richness and popularity of the five aforementioned shows, I’m betting the brain trust that passed on any one of them is now working in the mailroom.

Mental has been slowly growing on me. When I saw that it is being moved to Friday, I was sure it was only a matter of time till it was gone for good. As I was not one who watched PB, Mental is the 1st show I’ve ever seen Vance in. And I’ve got to tell you…I AM a new fan!!! I am excited to see his interactions with Michael on BN. Who knows, maybe it will turn into a recurring gig…Fingers Crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Mr. Vance should never ever shave his chest. Let it grow, my friend.
